Breweries Opening/Closing in Minnesota 2018

AFAIK not professional experience. They're chefs at Travail and homebrew on the side so when travail wanted to have house-made beer on hand to complement the pizzas they looked to the resources they already had. Having been to travail, I'll give those guys the benefit of the doubt on all things related to pleasing my palate.

I spoke with one of them briefly and he said they are looking at a 3bbl electric system and the team in charge of brewing is going to focus solely on brewing, not splitting time between brewing and cooking.

Not a brewery, but...

Biergarten Germania in former Golden’s Deli space has abruptly closed

"Biergarten Germania, the German beer hall with house-made sausages and sauerkraut in the former Golden’s Deli space in Lowertown, has reportedly closed."

 

Unfortunate, as she worked at the legendary Brickskeller, and must've known a thing or two (and fortunately, there's a roughly similar place just one ZIP code to the west).

I prefer to believe this was more due to the fact that there was precious little press coverage for Germania (when they opened), than believe that this type of food + bier pairing is no longer accessible: It seems to work just fine for the New Bohemia chain.

 

Pantown Brewing has updated their Facebook page, and are pouring the floors at their brewery. After that, they will install the equipment. Hopefully they will be up by the end of summer.

 

Kulturwerks denied taproom license for now , because it’s Roseville people and we don’t want your damn money .

I’m pretty intrigued with how that project is going to play out. I drive past their location all the time, and it is TINY. If they could fit a brewery and taproom in there it could be really cool. I could see parking being a big issue for them though. Sounds like Roseville is willing to play ball eventually which is good news!

 

Has there been any recent news on the brewery Brett Doebbeling was planning to open in Staples MN? There had been a couple reports early in process, but I haven't heard anything more on the project for quite awhile.

I'll be in the area in September & was hoping to get a chance to try his new creations!

Drastic Measures Brewing will be located in downtown Wadena MN.

On Drastic Measures' Facebook page, Brett (I would assume) posts on July 7th, in replying to an opening date question, that the intention is to be open for business by late fall.

Keep in mind my "Double It" rule of thumb. I doubt it opens before spring of 2019.
