Good morning, BAs! What an amazing day here in SEPA. Already spent 3 hours outside taking it in, and planning to spend most of the remainder of today out there too. Why can’t the whole summer be like this?

 

Is that a challenge? I can’t officially commit to this though until @JamFuel makes an appearance.

 

Really not as good as I was hoping =( However, any beer makes the day better - cheers!

And a beautiful one it is here - feels like early fall - cool pleasantly low humidity and temps in the 70's - I dig this weather! Already out for a bike ride and hike and will be sailing this afternoon and possibly kayaking too!

Mrs. Mac and I are in Israel meeting our daughter who is an archaeologist and just completed a 6-week excavation in the Galilee. Today, we're attending a post 4th of July barbecue at the Albright Institute for Archaeological Research in Jerusalem. There's burgers, hot dogs, and lots of local beer
This is Lela Brewing's Belgian Ale brewed in nearby Beth Shemesh.

#3. Taybeh Gold, a German-style Pilsener brewed on the West Bank by U.S. expat Palestinian Christians. Cheers from Jerusalem, an amazing city!

 

Bacchus: Kriek

 

Attractive deeper shade of gold color with white cap and lacing.

The scent strikes me as more citrus than pine with some sweet orange tones in an uplifting sort of way. There's a definite resin presence but orange blossoms abound.

Taste on entry displays malt that I didn't catch in the scent but glad I found it. Citrus diminishes as pine ascends toward the finish ending on a refreshing hoppy note.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This isn't a standard sharp, piney, West Coast sort of IPA. I mean it is hoppy, we're talking Ballast Point after all, yet it has a softer, more citrus oriented approach that actually broadens it's appeal in my view.
