Bruery Allocation: Mélange #3 & Bourbon Barrel Aged 4 Calling Birds

.... That's all in reference to melange 1, to clarify.

 

Just finishing up a Tulip full of 2011 Melange 3. Stupid move with a 12 bottle maximum allocation size for the 2012 version. My wallet is in trouble. I also agree with everyone regarding the Melange 1 maximum allocation size.

 

How were you able to get so many? Weren't we only allocated one Melange 1?

 

Came to post the same thing - I also sent an email to the bruery to let them know - I would be bummed to miss this one. I was very curious if this had happened to others - now I know to not take it personally at least

 

Is Melange 1 barrel aged after it's blended? Last time I had it I thought it just tasted like Oude Tart + BT without much else.

I really have no idea.

 

If these were in 12oz bottles I would double max out.

 

I wasnt in the RS that year, but when they opened it up on sale at provisions with a two bottle limit I dragged the fiancé with me.

Also, during the 'beer a day in the month of may', I was able to pick one more up. It's drinking fantastically, fwiw.

Is melange #3 on sale at provisions yet?

 

I dunno, I share in your thoughts about what it tasted like though, and that's why I like it

 

M3 is a little pricey for my, but I am excited for 4CB, I was a little disappointed in 5GR, hopefully I will like it better BA

 

And on another note from my wallet, got the email from Alicia @ 50/50 on my eclipse futures, lol.

 

Same here, I had forgotten how much I ordered of those.

 

I would love to get a bottle or two of BA 4CB and am in the PA area. If someone is willing to try and work something out that would be awesome.

 

When did you get an email from Alicia? I have not heard from them yet, and when I do my wallet will be crying.

 

This month is getting painful. On the Eclipse, the 16% tax plus $55 to ship 16 bottles was a bit...surprising. Now I know why they trade $4$ at the $30 value level...!

 

They are charging 15.75% tax because they didn't charge it on the first half you paid for. So they are really charging the 7.875% that they are supposed to.

 

Is BA 4 Calling Birds that much better than regular 4 Calling Birds?
