Went to Waterzooi, a Belgian bistro and oyster bar in Garden City, famous for their mussel pots and Belgian ales... Needless to say I went with their house tripel...
Waterzooi Grand Cru, brewed by Van Steenberge... a fantastic tripel!!!

And a pot of mussels, Provençal-style...
Served with a side of perfect fucking French fries and mayonnaise...

Great lunch, though it was technically their brunch menu - my wife loved the Belgian eggs Benedict (also with fries and mayo, which she also loved)... And yeah, I ate the whole pot of mussels by myself - man, those Belgians know their shit... Delicious...

Home now, sipping on Aberlour's A'bunadh...

A favorite Scotch I haven't had in over a decade...

So far, so good, BA - happy Saturday - cheers...

A little bit of Northern Michigan Brewing history in a can. When Jack Archiable started Traverse Brewing Company he was brewing license #3 in Michigan (if I remember what he told me correctly). Several prominent now - prominent brewers cut their teeth at TBC, and when it closed down their Manitou Amber - and, I believe, the rest of the portfolio - was purchased by John Niedermaier at Brewery Terra Firma. So it feels like drinking Michigan Brewing history here.

According to Jack, the yeast in this is a different strain and the malt is from a different supplier so it's kind of not the same beer But the sentiment is there.

I decided a long time ago that fries belong with garlic mayo. Absolute heaven.

Yup. Nailed it. I usually eat my fries plain - no ketchup or whatever - but that mayo!?!
    Holy shit - that's a game-changer...

The world’s gone crazy!! Cats dancing with dogs and shit!!* I don’t know what to believe in any more.

    * ok, I’d forgotten the saying, and trying to google it just resulted in endless videos and listicles of videos of cats and dogs :slight_frown:

    Oh, I did try this:

The Lord Hummungus - and old school NW IPA meets older school ESB. Pretty clean and piney bitter with light toasted malt back.

I wonder how many 12oz cans the namesake was.
