    Stigbergets West Coast India Pale Ale



    The West Coast of Sweden that is. So, what we have here is considered in Sweden to be the “traditional” IPA. Hazy, juicy and no bitterness. The earliest recorded recipes go back as far as the 12th century. The bright, crushingly bitter IPA’s that we all love today (AKA East Coast IPA) were not introduced until much later in the 15th century.

    What this also means, for you geography buffs, is that since the West Coast of Sweden borders the East Coast of Norway, that this style of beer also envokes notes of lutefisk and raspeball. They say it’s in the yeast.

    The wife and I are going to Denver in about a month. TRVE is the brewery I'm most excited to check out. I know nothing about any of their beers, but I dig that their vibe is metal.
