Anyone going to the C&C share Saturday? My pickup is not till 12:15 and will have time to kill. Historically is this share worth attending?

My question is what time does the share start and how exactly does it work? I have a 2:15 time slot and was debating on going beforehand. Will it be over by 4:00 as well or does it kick all night?

2 years ago the bottle share at C&C was alot of fun. I paid $20 to get in and it included a glass and tickets for pours or snacks they had available. Again, this was 2 years ago.

I'll be part of @nmoe group and I'll be bringing some cool bottles from New England. Should be fun.

According to FB post it starts at 9am, ends at 6pm. $20 entry. Just was curious what kind of a share historically....all whales? Mid tier stuff? Sure it is a good time regardless.

We went to the C&C share the last two years and it was a blast. Last year they had bottle pours of Assassin for the first couple dozen people in line too.

The event was well attended the last two years and cool people who were happy to strike up conversation and share beer.

Last year it cleared out when word got out that TG was selling the left over MD bottles as everyone migrated to that line. Not sure if anything continued into the evening.

Edit - people have brought good stuff - last year we had plenty of Trillium, Tree House, Other Half, etc. Had some Side Project and J Wake. Didn’t necessarily have any ultra whales.

Definitely hitting pulpit early Saturday morning for to go options and hoping they have some Friday offerings left over. But....does anyone know or have a thought as to what bottles or beers TG will be selling Saturday either for one site or to go? I was hoping for fresh king sue or some Dragon fandango....assume any of there big name stouts would be on site only. Just curious as this is my first time ever setting foot in Decorah ha. Thanks.

I’d guess Sosus or Supa Sumo, it’s ususlly one of those 2.

I'm fairly certain they said it would be Sosus

Just a few suggestions for those of you that get some pours in the taproom this weekend:
    1. If you order the Peach Grove Saison, think about ordering the taster first. It's a great, flavorable beer but man it is dense. My buddy and I spent about 45 minutes trying to get through each of our tasters.
    2. Ask your server about combining beers. Dragon Fandango is a great beer, Dragon mixed with PseudoSue is outstanding. I'd also recommend mixing Peach with Dragon. It makes it a much more smoother, manageable drink.
    3. Remember, the new Toppling Goliath is way outside of town. However you get there and back, plan ahead and be safe. It's not exactly an easy, short, or safe walk along the highway back into town.
    4. For those of you new to Decorah, try to take a pit stop at Dixie's Biergarten (formally TGII Craft Brews). This was the original home of Toppling Goliath and will give you a sense of the size jump they made in moving locations. They also have a good selection of other Iowa breweries, including 515 Brewing, and is just up the road from Pulpit Rock and an easy walking distance.
Have fun everyone and travel safe, both in getting there and in town.

Starting to think a 400 mile round trip drive, 12 hours of my Saturday, and $150+ isn't worth it for 2 bottles of beer. I have tickets but I think I'm going to skip this one. Used to drive down to the taproom every few weeks around 2014 but not anymore...

I'm really looking forward to 6 hours of quiet time on the drive up from STL.

Does anyone have information on Public sales?

Can I go there and buy a bottle to go?

I'm sure there will be at least some extras from no shows, but how many they will have is kind of a crap shoot. Not to mention I'm sure there will be a line somewhat early on for them or people hoping there will be something special at the public open. People go nuts at these things and will wait in line for hours just for a chance at something that might not even happen, so just be prepared for that if you do try.

Also if you do go you, they will be selling them in sets so you'll probably need $100 in cash cause they aren't gonna split them up. Another reason they may go fast.

What are you looking to buy? Anyone without a ticket can get in after 4pm...they have said leftover allotments of MD will be sold at 4p, but I imagine the line for that will start to form after some get through their first session pickup, if not earlier.

Got my camp site booked today and heading out shortly. Looking forward to PR today and the MD pours I've got for tonight, might end up at the Quality share tonight too. Maybe I overlooked them but any shares Sat, besides C&C, at hotels or campground? All my friends get in tomorrow.
