Did TG end up selling leftover sets at 4?

I was in session 2 and looking at the line just for that session they must have put out 3x - 4x more MD than last year.

I think they did, but one of TG workers came out around 3:45P.M. and said that they only had 30-40 extra sets that they were going to sell (and the line for the left-over MD sets was much longer than that). They were also only going to sell them in those sets (of 2 bottles) and not brake them up. Much of the line dispersed after that.

The ticket sale vs. the lottery must have worked (for TG) in that it got people that could actually make it to the event and not be left with pallets that didn't get picked up.

Agreed. But I’m a little skeptical that only 35 people didn’t show up.

But not a big deal. I thought it was a fun event, even though I wasn’t able to try the coffee Term-oils. I did really like the one 18-A I was able to get!

Yeah the line was pretty slow. I think what really held it up was all the people paying with cards.
Wish they had a cash only line as they were pouring the beers pretty fast it just took forever to run the cards. Saw some were having issues with the readers so they had to manually punch the info in.

I personally thought it went really well. I was session 1 and moved through so fast with my fiance that she commented that she wished there was more time to look at the inside of the brewery. I got to try coffee and 18-A Term-Oil which was great. Didn't get to stick around for the rest of the day so can't comment on later sessions. I do wish they'd have some type of breakfast bar setup. Nothing would go better with some MD than a stack of pancakes, bacon, eggs, and potatoes.

I can see how that happened. Left around 930 and that line did look a little backed up now that I thought about it. I got my outside pours pretty quickly and did pay in cash. Mostly did that so I'd limit myself on what I bought.

I thought it was well run. No complaints, other than I didn't get to try the mint Term Oil since they waited to long to tap it, but.. oh well.

Had a blast bottle sharing at the Quality with some of you!

A well run event. Wasn't shocked they put out most of the Term oils in the early session. I did get to try the Mint one they accidentally tapped in session 4. I had most of what was on tap so I didn't really get to stay long.

Decorah sure has changed the last 2 years since I visited in 2016 and was pleasantly surprised they had special taps and events all over town including the bottle shares at the hotels, It was a pretty laid back atmosphere most of the weekend considering there where almost 3000 people in town. I was surprised how mellow C&C was throughout the day though.

This year MD is probably the best one I've had.

Also PR was pretty disappointing and Impact coffee probably has the best nitro cold brew I ever had in my life.

Had to say that I thought it would be more of an event as opposed to a single beer tent, but I got what I came for and then some. I have to admit that the pour of MD I got at T-Bocks on Friday was remarkably similar to MDb4 (super heavy bitter coffee). The pours at the brewery on Saturday were much better for my palate (had more of a nesquik-like finish).

Spent $100 on a Prop 14 @ GI Taproom on the way back home instead of staying for the public sale of the MD leftovers....I'm okay with that

i agree with your assessment of T-Bock’s pour (i was there) vs draft at TG. my buddies and i all agreed TG pours were much better. not to say that T’s was bad but TG’s was noticeably better.

Yes the Quality Inn share was lots of fun. And when I went to our room, I found out they even had comfortable pillows! Would stay there again for my next TG visit.

The tap lines were a bit slow but overall it was quite an enjoyable event. And the MD was delicious, as well as the TO 18A!

Had a blast!!!...was also my first time to Decorah. Got to Pulpit at 730am and got the 2-4packs that were available. They did sell out quickly which was a downside for some other folks I know who missed out showing up at 815ish. Ate at Mabes for lunch(Great Pizza!!) and headed to TG after that. Heated up quick when that sun came out.

Was kind of a bummer that they made me go outside for my second pour of MD(session 4), but I was pretty loose by then so didnt really care too much.

Had everyone in my party give me their coconut Term Oil pours so I ended up with damn near a full glass.....If you saw a guy in the beer tent line giving people samples.....that was me....haha

B5 MD is the best MD since B2. Very impressed. Sweet, thick maple MD has made a return!

How was Pulpit dissappointing? Saturday AM they sold out of to go cans pretty quickly, but they had awesome drafts flowing friday and saturday both days when I stopped in...got to try all the new stuff they advertised and I was impressed.

I was not impressed with the draft pour I got on Friday night out at Safehouse Salloon, and was hesitant to even try it again at the release but it was included with the bottle purchase so I didn't pass that up...good thing too because it was waaaaay better than the other draft.

not happy that they were out of everything for session 4, very happy that they didnt use a permanent marker to mark your hand for MD pour refill. couldnt pass up getting 3 5 oz pours for $15.
