Now can we confirm how the bottles are tasting? Hoping like the taps on Saturday.

All day breakfast was probably one of the worst beers I ever had. straight syrup, no barrel and felt hosed paying $10 for a 5 oz pour of liquid sugar. By reading Untappd, it looks I wasn't the only one who wasn't a local that felt the same way.

Bro'reo was decent, again because it was too sweet. The IPA's were not bad and for the Joy of Almonds although artificial tasting, wasn't bad.

I think it was more of me being upset about ADB and the hype surrounding the brewery than anything else.

Yeah the dark beers I've had by them have been quite sticky sweet for me too, although that is kind of the in-thing these days.

I went in the day after the Anniversary Party and avoided the All Day Breakfast because I'd been told it was really, really sweet.

The Another Original, however, was one of the best beers I've had all year. It didn't make till that weekend, presumably because it was the superior beer. It was a brownie walnut BA stout. Just delicious.

Rhyme Animal was as good as any IPA as I've had anywhere lately, and Joy of Almonds is a great beer. Not sure what seemed artificial about it, but to each their own. I definitely didn't think it was quite as good as some of the previous batches, but chalked it up to not being caught by surprised.

We really should just change the name of this thread to Decorah beer Releases and Updates.

The ADB was not good, agree. Was like drinking pure sugar. I enjoyed the others though. As a whole, I like pulpit, but were the 4 packs worth 24-26$, no.

How much were King Sue 4-packs selling for at TG during Mornin' Delight release?

I bought 3 and I can't remember! I was in that mode of 'shut up and take my money!' so I didn't even bother to ask.

So am I the only one that preferred b3 and b4 MD over b5? b5 is way more balanced and all the flavors come together great, but that's not what I'm looking for. b3 and b4 were just an absolute maple assault with a nice coffee flavor as well. Those are my favorite beers that just blast you with one flavor. VR and Prop 14 are perfect examples. Straight vanilla and coconut extract.

b3 i only had on draft once but remember liking it very much. b4 was decent. neither of those batches i remember being as thick as b5 though.

if you want a stout with a full on onslaught of flavor you need to look into a shared CSV. straight in-your-face coffee not to mention thicker than anything you listed above.

Never had b4, but b3 was a little maple and a lot of coffee. I’ve never heard anyone say it was a maple bomb. Haven’t opened a bottle yet, but the drafts of b5 I had at TG were maple bombs(and a ton of coffee, too). Friends I was with said the same thing. B3 was very good, but B5 was way better, imo.

B4 brought me back into the fold, because I was not impressed with B3. Interesting all the varied experiences.

TG is working hard (via their internal politics) to get me to hate them these days though.

no, i meant like repping them (loving them) one day and hating the next. it’s just a huge hassle altogether. losing countless lotteries. playing twitter mind games. just gets old. and all for stouts that when it comes down to it are good, yes but not on the same level as StL.
