Reporting back into this feed: Cerberus is now killing it! Went there twice before, once at opening, another time 8 months ago. Went back last night, and they have some wicked creative beers, especially IPAs and Stouts, for those interested. So if you find yourself just west of I-25 in the Springs, CERBERUS.
Good news is that they are taking over Brewer's Republic, and will have some of their own taps there, too. BR is maybe our most venerable, small, taproom in the Springs. Will be nice to have that back... cheers!

Ok, I took some earlier grief about not liking Bristol. Tried the regular Warlock and their "Wireless Warlock" - barrel aged stout. Neither wowed me. Both seemed pretty "meh" and watery. Sorry. my opinion has not changed. Wish it had. Warlock is a tad better than it was 2 years ago, but still not anywhere near the Merlin.

I have a Colorado Springs question... Does Coaltrain have and Casey bottles in stock right now? My wife is in town for s conference and was just wondering before I send her over. Thanks in advance! Cheers!

    Hey Everyone,

I will be in Colorado Springs at the end of September and am seeking suggestions for breweries, brew pubs, and bottle shops to visit while I am there. Open to suggestions that might take me a bit out of the way as well.

I am driving from Denver Airport (not spending any time in Denver) to Colorado Springs and would also like to know if there is anything on the way I should know about.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if Colorado Springs enjoys the fruits of GABF or not, so a stop in Denver may be worth adding to your agenda.

#1 recommendation for brewery and restaurant in the city is Cerberus. They'd be my favorite spot for beer even without their amazing kitchen and my favorite place to eat even without their fantastic beers.

Brewer's Republic is also high on my list and they happen to be under the same ownership as Cerberus and their menu is from the same chef (though more casual and includes wood-fired pizzas - get the Figgy Piggy and thank me later).

Trails End Taproom is the only you-pour-it system in town and consistently keeps a strong lineup of beers.

Veteran's, Patriot's, and Coaltrain for you bottle needs.

Not nearly on the level as Denver obviously, but places like Brewer's Republic and Trails End both get some limited kegs (Cinnamon Coffee BBomb / Scotch Parabola for example) and they last a lot longer down here.

I have not been by in the last few days, but they have had some Nectarine Fruit Stand and one of the grape preserve variants in the cooler recently if it's not too late for you.

I'd estimate down here we get ~75/80% of what drops in Denver. Some of the super limited stuff doesn't always make it down, but we definitely get our share. Coaltrain and Veterans are the stores to target.

Just got back from Colorado Springs and ended up going to Cerberus twice. Outstanding beers and food, definitely worth seeking out if anybody's in the area. I'm in Chicago quite a bit and Cerberus would stand up well next to the best pubs there.

For those of you who suggested Coaltrain, all I can say is thanks! Unfortunately I only had a few minutes to stop by once but picked up some fantastic bottles and cans while I was there. Great selection and very nice people.
