Sweetwater Mosaic Single Hop Hazy IPA.



No one will top this version, but they did a great job with this last night. Played a nice mixture of new & old last night. Mixed in about 4 new songs. Played over 2 hours.

Picked up about $ 160 in Oklahoma today

Sloppy 2nds from our tasting on Sunday. Was pretty obnoxious when it was first opened so we poured it back in the bottle and let it sit for a few days. So-oooooo.... here I am tonight nursing the remaining 3/4 of a flat bottle. This 2016 didn't age very well and too expensive to drain pour. An 11.5% Imperial Bourbon Barrel aged Imperial Stout isn't that "bad" of a problem to have. Things could be worse ... at least it isn't one of those skunky overpriced 2015 Bourbon County batches filled with yogurt yeast.



This bottle is absolutely minuscule compared to that sad day 17 years ago today. Remembering those who lost their innocent lives today - my heart and prayers go out to the families who have to live that horror every day. (It seems like just yesterday. )

 

Awesome fruit tripel! Nice head retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy strawberries, rhubarb, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, melon, red apple, and light pepper yeast; with moderate honey, candi sugar, white bready malts; light herbal/grassy hop, and yeast earthiness. Light peppery yeast spiciness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; creamy/silky/grainy malts; light fruit tang/tannins/acidity in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering tart/tangy fruit dryness. No puckering/cloying. Very refreshing for 7.5%. Outstanding balance between jammy fruit, Belgian yeast, and pale malt/sugar flavors. Not overly sweet from lingering dryness. Surprisingly really impressive. Hope they make more batches. 4.15


Outstanding sour as usual. Solid head retention and minimal lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white wine, oak, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate honey, wheat, cracker, white bready malts; light notes of oaken vanilla, peppercorn, leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tartness, and light yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy malts, some lactic acidic, and light oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing tart/carbonated dryness. No puckering. Very smooth and refreshing for 7%, not overly lactic. Outstanding balance of Brett/Bacteria complexity, honey, and pale/wheat malts; with nice oak foeder presence. This series is consistent as hell. 4.15
