Rookie BIF Round 2 Hints and Hauls Thread

Nice box! I didn't know cinna-mom was even a thing but now I want it...

 

Haul hint 1: will be finishing up procurement of beers and sending out to my target Monday or Tuesday

 

Awesome box -- I've had a few of these, and they were great across the board.

 

Really impressive bunch of boxes so far guys -- predominantly locals, staying close to the guidelines, and most importantly a bunch of happy (hoppy?) targets. And everybody seems to be putting a lot of thought into these, which seems to be a fortunate side effect of keeping the boxes relatively modestly sized.

It looks like by tomorrow we'll probably pass half the boxes landing...

 

Yes, agree. I’m putting good effort in for what is available in my area. Some of the participants have an embarrassment of riches haha

 

Modestly sized? I guess everything is relative! Do some of the other BIFs go over 200 oz?

I hear ya. My box lands tomorrow and I feel like it needs some upgrades.

I feel the same way. Then I think about how those in Boston have Trillium/Night Shift as locals or NYC having Other Half/Barrier or Michigan having access to Speciation/Old Nation and I realize that I can never compete with them based on my locals. But I figure if I send beers I like I'll be ok and try to make up for the lack of big name breweries by going a few ounces (or 40) over because quantity > quality (ha!).

Either way, those are some pretty stupendous boxes that have been cracked tonight, @Goblinmunkey7, @FlintB, and @timmy2b.

I'm particularly impressed that Timmy put together a box where I have only had three of the beers. I've got some new ones to look out for when I'm in Buffalo again in a few weeks. Go Bills!

Yeah, but having done a bunch of these, pretty much everyplace has something good, you just have to hope your sender finds it. If you asked me to list my top 10 breweries, I'd probably include a couple from the midwest that I would never have heard of prior to getting involved in BIF's.

 

If you need any help locating something don't hesitate to ask! Always happy to search for stuff and have a nice spot in Lewiston that always seems to have a bunch of fresh great stuff!
