Rookie BIF Round 2 Hints and Hauls Thread

Treehouse is good and some beers are real good worth the hype? Sure. Head and shoulders above other breweries? No way so much good beer is out there and everywhere from the tiniest breweries to big dogs I've had beers that I love from little ct breweries with little to no distro

 

Also definitely think some beers with that hype get super inflated ratings because of the breweries rep and not the beer just had a trillium that I couldn't even finish and it's an avg 4

 

I'm on board with the Tree-House-is-not-wildly-better-than-Singlecut train. Haven't had as much Other Half to compare though.

 

As a Midwest guy I still love the treehouse/Trillium mouthfeel better than most of the NEIPAs that are made around here. Wisconsin beers are really good (and cheap comparatively) but we have sadly lagged behind in hoppy beers IMO. I sent my target IA and MN hops cause I think they are better. BTW that box was delivered yesterday....

 

My target's box is on the truck for delivery today. I may have misspelled his last name on the label by replacing an 'O' with an 'R' since I love to cheer on my favorite MLB team. Hope they can repeat as World Series champs.

 

@Orca_Whale What part of the great state of Iowa are you located? Ever heard of Chariton or Knoxville?

 

When you have the BIF organizer as your target you have to do something fun. I figured Springfield is easy...the Simpsons live there...the Simosons are yellow...Spongebob is yellow...game on!

@swenny916 I'm glad it all made it. I wanted to hit some style wants and we have some unreal freshness out here (Four Seam straight murders), but wanted to add some super cool locals that no one ever thinks to try. Also, Dorothy is 2015 so she has some real interesting character. Hope you have a grand time with that box.

 

I'm working from home and have already seen a large USPS truck and a UPS truck go by without stopping. That FedEx truck better show up soon.

With the obvious exception of The Brewing Projekt! They're doing fantastic things with hops. Otherwise, I'd have to agree, sadly. Love the sours and stouts coming out of WI though. And I've heard that 1840 is stepping up their IPA game, right? Promising things in the future, particularly with that Central Waters canning line. I'll always love them, even if their hops have been sub-par.

Sorry this is a long post, work has kept me away...but I gotta say damn, @dprice, @FlintB, @timmy2b, @Goblinmunkey7, @Oconomowocian, and @swenny916 great job on the boxes! But a special shoutout to @dprice for a picture I can see.

This was my feeling too, no one knows almost all the breweries around me but I'm trying to share the love and spread the word! Hopefully those who receive my beers in the future will be happy they received them after they drink them if they're not so excited when they get them.

Was it the Georges Island? I work with a guy here from Boston and he said Georges Island was an absolute disgrace to the name.

So, apparently the FedEx truck showed up during the 10 minutes I was not at my desk staring forlornly out the window waiting for a box to land. When I went to check the mail at lunch I nearly couldn't get out my door due to the large cardboard box from @rspauldi blocking my path. After dragging it in I unwrapped it to find the following inside:

Nice box -- those St. Arnold's sound really interesting (as does pretty much everything in there).
