Buying Sue in cans is like playing Russian roulette. I’ve had amazing cans that were on sale for $7.99 a 4 pack and brew hub Sue (that was brewed in Decorah). Not sure what the deal is. The last cans I had of FSM was stupid good. I’ve also heard that all Pompeii cans have been amazing.

For someone that posts so frequently on BA, to have not had Sue until October of 2018, especially being from your region of the country, is a damn shame.

And let us not forget the dozens of times you've reminded the entire population of this website how you can't stand the faintest indication of bitterness in your beer. Even your profile mentions that KBS is "on the cusp of being too bitter," which is incredibly absurd, considering many old school tasters view it as too sweet.

Thankfully you don't rate or review beers here, because your palate is an extreme outlier and the last thing to be trusted by craft beer drinkers, general or not.

That's why I don't review them here. I know that I am an outlier.

To be honest, I have not tried it because it is not sold here. I bought a couple bombers for my dad last year in WI, but I never tried it.

Edit: picked this up in Peoria 2 nights ago.

Eh, to each their own. That’s part of the fun of discussion something as subjective as taste. Having said that, I’m going to take a couple cans over to a friends tomorrow that just brought back fresh Zombie Dust. To me, that’s the test/comparison for this beer considering its killer rep.

I like some, but not universal. I rarely say I like something universally. Just never really seems to fit. I'm just picky, I guess.

Couple weeks back in IL I found a 6 pack of Weltenberger Barock Dunkel. Never seen it in anything but pint bottles. Was thrilled. Quickly bought a 6 pack.

You bought bombers of regular Sue last year?? What was the date on them, 2013?

Sorry, they were DDH and DDH Mosaic. Purchased in Madison, WI right after a drop.

Dude, next time you see DDH Sue, buy it and drink it! Have never had a bad batch of it.

 At that point I never really drank any IPAs. I drink a few now (obviously). Never really in range, but in the event that I am, I would certainly enjoy trying it =).

My wife and I finally got to go to TG yesterday for our anniversary. What a great place. I didn’t disappoint.

SF just received some PS cans dated 5/1/17, why send it if it's that old. Gotta be a date mistake.

Are they in boxes? If not, they might actually be that old. I think they started boxing the 4 packs in 2018. I just did a quick search, and they didn't get their canning line delivered to Decorah until 6/1/2017, much less up and running.

Don't know yet, but they should be ashamed of themselves if they sent out a beer that old.

That's just part of the hazing of being a newer market of Toppling Goliath. Go talk to your counterparts over in Chicago about what they first got when TG came to town. They were all excited until they realized they were getting the older stuff and/or contract brewed as well.

Still don't get reliably fresh stuff at Binny's and also got dicked over with the first can release of FSM.

That said, I just picked up King Sue can 10/01/18 at Binny's on Grand.

Nah, that's par for the course with TG. Making a great first impression.
