Had that at the brewery last weekend. Was absolutely blown away. Best Barleywine I have ever had. It’s got all those basic Barleywine elements, but then this dollop of fruit just shines through... Pure excellence.

This is a pretty good one. It’s hot and bright out right now (89 degreees) wish I could enjoy it, but these Santa Ana winds kill the mood. Patiently waiting for tonight’s Dodgers game...

Happy Friday, BAs! Yeah, yeah, I know I said some nonsense about not drinking until Thanksgiving, but I just spent 6 sweaty hours doing some heavy duty cleaning of my place, so I think I deserve a tasty break! Besides, I already cheated by stopping by Avery for a Tweak on tap yesterday (come on, it's 5 minutes from my house!) I am absolutely LOVING this from Casey. It is very different than it was when I had it a year ago, but it is beautiful in a different way. The carb is pretty much gone, the knock-you-over-the-head peach flavor has definitely receded a bit, but there is enough peach left to give you that amazing mix with the bourbon from the barrel. If I sent you a bottle of this, open it soon (ahem, @bstyle ).

In full disclosure, I did open this from Black Project first. I do like the way the hops and the vanilla play off each other, but I don't care much for the heavy lactic acid--gives me that weird "sweet tarts" tongue burn that I'm not crazy about.

This is an exceptional pale ale. Brewed by Sixpoint. Did not expect it to be so good since my taste buds seem oblivious to anything other than double IPAs and some IPAs. Sent by @EMH73 . Thanks dude.

Back inside where I took a peep at the paper and saw this article about wanting to make Anaheim a brewing Mecca. I for one cannot wait for the Modern Times place to open up, and as a whole, I’d like to see the area surrounding Angel Stadium be developed. Before/after games, peeps want to boogie! Not go to Subway to get a foot long! Karl Strauss and Golden Road is nice for what it is, but let’s make it really happen, Anaheim!

Oh, I’m drinking Abnormal Boss Pour because that Sixpoint Meltdown went down way too quickly. I never really drink anything from this brewery, but the can was fresh and the price was even fresher at $3.99 (don’t get Raul started on the price of beer in California)...
