Lagunitas Born Yesterday

Tuesday afternoon gonna hit Veil for my DIPAs and the state store for my Makers Mark bourbon. It is true, the night will not end well.

 

No pictures but I'm sipping on a 2016 KBS while my Ribeye is cooking on the grill. Thinking about what may be next, maybe a North Coast Imperial Russian Stout. And yeah, it finally cooled off some here,

Loving this beer and a visible date even if it tells me that it's 6 months old when it hits my local store...

Great day, being The Godfather of my beautiful niece. Good food and few beers is always nice. Now, back to reality and back to work tonight with some 20 something degree wind chills already. I was wearing shorts last weekend. This is a delicious DIPA. I wish I could get LIC’s bigger releases more often. Good night all.

Ordinarily, I would like to fly to Illinois and kick your ass (which I am not capable of doing anymore but back in my prime, maybe). Anyway, took me awhile but realized that is your sense of humor. Damn dude, I actually like you. Will it hurt your rep. I can only hope so.

Last Monday I was invited to the first soft opening of Lawson's Finest Liquid's new brewery in Waitsfield, VT. This beer, a lager, was the first batch brewed on the new system.

look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.25

Moderate pour yields a one inch white head over a bright golden body with some lacing. Somewhat floral character on the nose with a bit of herbal attributes as well. Taste mirrors nose with the addition of a delicate bitterness which lends some room for a bit of sweetness on the palate. Nice feel and overall, for a first batch from a hop forward brewery and a lager to boot, I'm impressed. Cheers to Sean and crew in Waitsfield, VT!
