That's not good. That's not a lot considering 1 case per person and reports of over 125 people in line at opening.

You'd think they would have much more considering the volume produced. A lot must be hitting distribution.

Not a lot of room at Gen Store - he said 480 is a lot for the Store.
Someone can run the numbers but I guess a lot is going into distribution.

My math came up with over 4,300 cases, which seems crazy high. If that math is correct, that means it's only about 11% for sale at the store, with the rest going to distro.

Employee allocation of 20 cases per person? lol.

Yeah, even though I know you're joking, you do have to account for some cases going to employees, friends or something. Either way, we're left with a lot of beer hitting the market.

I think every state they distro to is getting this.

If it’s only 480, they should stop selling cases.

Sounds like about roughly 100 cases per state they distribute to, most places probably will get one case and sell it in singles.

We did the math already about a page or so back. Larry said 350 barrels(31 gallons) were made. It comes out to roughly 30,000 four packs of beer for distro.

10% kegged, 10% at general store and figure a little loss. Maybe 75% of that to distro.

I know some breweries put some back too, for later purposes. I'm sure Bells would do that with some too, right? I would have no clue how much they would though.

Yeah, didn't figure those in. So figure 23,000 4 packs for distro. Thereabouts.

If the 480 case count for The General Store is accurate, then that'll probably be gone by this evening. I figure about 120 people had gotten their cases by the time I arrived at 11:30, I waited in line about 40 minutes and there was still a long line when I left.

Looks like 10 cases left at 1:45. No line.

People definitely say this. Like, to the point of it being obnoxious. But I don't think there is any actual hard data to support this notion. I'm not even sure how you would get this, since it's so heavily intertwined with perception and the passage of time.

It's just one of those "X thing can't possibly be as good once it's more widespread/mainstream/bigger/etc" that people say about everything. That attitude has some kernels of validity, but it gets used as sort of a unspoken truth.

Why? That's enough for 480 people to get a full allocation. That's a shitload of beer and likely more than you'll see at pretty much any brewery release.

Not to mention the fact that it sounds like this will be readily available in the market if for some reason you can't find the time to get up there today. By allowing case limits, they also potentially reduce the line-waiting, as some people will get a full allocation with plans to mule it for friends/family that can't make the release. And I doubt every person gets a full allocation.

The 10 cases is probably incorrect. They were wheeling in flat dollys of cases from outside of the store to stock behind the counter. 10 cases is about what they had at all times behind the counter.

We were in and out in 15 minutes right around 12:30pm. Got a 6 pack of 2015 expedition stout too!

Has anyone actually gone into the café to have a pour of this version?
