I am kind of curious about this and will buy some if I come across it but my first impression is that a peanut IPA sounds terrible. Stout definitely seems the way to go if brewing with peanuts

Big peanut companies muscling their way in. Down with big peanut.

IHOP, Dunkin Donuts, Planter's...this is just turning into a game of chasing the trend marketing. I feel like these guys all have the same consulting group or something.

Agree, a nice Stout with this mix could be really good. But I am willing to try these, the can is just cool also, lol.
    Cheers

I am waiting for the candy guys to jump into the mix, think of all the outstanding candy that would go with a stout, I would bet we see one of them toss out something one day.

Oh, but I bet you didn't really. Sounds awful. If it was free, I might try a sip just to see, but I wouldn't want a whole can.

Oh well, it's not like I haven't had beer and peanuts before.

I would certainly try this. But a porter would have been a better choice.

I'm a big supporter of Noon Whistle, and right now they have an IPA with peanuts on. I believe the current one is all peanut powder so them using real peanuts in the boil for the Planters one will be interesting. I know Noon Whistle threw a couple ideas at Planters, ranging from a brown ale to stout.

    FTFY.

I'm glad they tried something besides a stout or porter, those have been done. A peanut Pils might work too.

The one candy you want to stay away from is Skittles. Those things are nasty on their own, and I've tried a couple Skittles beers ( a few years ago, when that guy from the Seahawks had a Skittles fetish, a couple breweries up here tried it.) and they were awful.

Which will be first, that or IPA-flavored Doritos (or Lays chips)? I'm not too confident the latter hasn't happened yet.

I have great love for both peanuts and IPA, so I can't decide if this might be something really great or absolutely horrible. Both seem equally possible. Not likely to get a chance to try this, but I would def. not turn it down.
Uggh, Skittles and Peeps are the worst tasting candies I ever have tried. How could someone think to make a beer with Skittles?
