I was recently thinking the same
i looked back in my emails and it never showed up in the distributor’s inventory list.

I searched for #blackbuttexxx on IG and shops in the midwest and SoCal both showed up. Looks like I'll just ask my Chicago buddy to pick one up from Binny's.

Follow up rookie question #2: Are the Alvarado cans there when City Beer opens on Wednesday’s or do they get delivered later in the day?

Usually Alvarado st is there when city beer opens. Once in a while the delivery is late. You should be good though.

Anyone else feel like K&L's new release selection has taken a hit since the previous buyer left?

Didn’t even know that happened but I’ve noticed the same thing you have as far as beer goes.

Thanks. Forgot to mention that I found some 4-packs at Bevmo the other week. They had single 12 oz bottles at Berkeley Bowl too. Not sure if they still have any, though, as it's been over a week since I've been over there.

I haven't been following Founders since CBS17 wasn't to my liking. Didn't know this was also released in 4s. How is it? I do like Backwoods Bastard. That's probably their best BA beer I've had.

I actually enjoyed my bottle of CBS '17, but I think I waited a few months before I opened it.

As for Better Half, I dug it. I was expecting it to be cloying, but I was pleasantly surprised by the restraint. It was an accent rather than a maple bomb. YMMV though.

Stopped by Berkeley Bowl West off Heinz Ave. again this weekend - seriously this has to be one of the best beer spots around. They were loaded up with all of the last couple of latest releases from Alvarado Street, Revision, Temescal, 3 Mags, Mikkeller SD, Other Half, man just so many I can't remember. Like beer heaven.

The ASBs that they had were Nelson Baby, Strata, Haole Punch, Chiffon Fog, Logical Step, Thunder in Paradise, Raw Cuts, and the Boysenberry Brunch sour. I might have missed one.

    Those are from Temescal.

Somewhat related, could I take a minute to talk about how ridiculous this pricing is?

First of all, how is a pint of Temescal West Coast IPA $9? They sell for $5 at the brewery and I imagine $6 in the back coolers at CBS. Even with the corkage fee I'm not sure where the extra $2 is coming from.

I also find the mix of 15oz and 16oz pours on their list to be maddening. Like is that extra 3 cents per pour really worth the new set of glassware and added stress on the consumer of choosing a beer?

I came here just to ask about this! They must be phasing out of beer completely because they have zero beers on their new release feed and when I was at the SF location a couple weeks ago the selection was pretty sad. It's a real shame.

I am interested to see if they still do the Black Friday GI BCBS release this year or if Goose Island is finally going to give all the variants to the rest fo their accounts this year. That's the most maddening thing is CBS being the only favored account in the area by a long shot and every other account is left with a case of a single variant if that.
