I see a couple of you posted cellared pumpkin beers. How does the cellaring effect the pumkin/spice flavors?

 

Having morning nightcap coffee porter by arcadia ales, made with bigby coffee. Tastes like some straight up folgers. Still an ok beer, but could use some vanilla like victory at sea has to smooth it out. Happy halloween!

Brand spanking fresh Black Currant Saison by White Elm. If I remember correctly (I'll have to go look) the can carrier said canned 10/27/18.



Tasting a bit green at this point, the black currant brings a pretty sharp bitter note, but the darker notes are under there. Great classic White Elm Saison breadiness. Good stuff. 3.78 out of 5.

 

I had a few pumpkin beers from 2016 that I opened at a party the other night. The spices fell off considerably but the gourd flavors were still there. So technically still a pumpkin beer.

 

The best pumpkin beer I had this year was dfh punkin ale on tap. It had this green bananaish pumpkin flavor I can't explain any other way and very little spice. On bottle, more spice and less gourd. Go figure.

 

Work was goddamn boring. Home with beer now.

Have to read the thread. Hopefully another advocate had the good taste to post this already.

Figured this would be appropriate for halloween.



BIF special. This one had a decent nose of mango and peach pit and quite a bit of citra hop with onion; the flavor was of hop spoilage, diesel fuel, pine, antiseptic, slight mango, onion, tangerine peel, and slight orange. Feel was acidic and very carbonated, nice creamy underbelly. Overall 3.26 out of 5

 

Drinking refined fools ripsnorter, a vanilla porter. Accompanied is a very Halloween rap song.

 

Solemn is good. Ravaged by Vikings is worth trying. Hubbards Cave makes good stuff, especially their Fresh IPA series and some of their stouts. They're also associated with Une Année, which makes more experimental beers.
