Halloween haul on the way home from work...

• Coupla more cans of Pieces of Eight - some may say its over-rated, but that's just crazy talk - it's just a great beer - and hard to pass up when it makes an appearance...
• Checking out the Dragon's Milk Reserve Banana Coconut edition - Dragon's Milk is a passable BBA stout, and not one I've returned to since I first had it - but after that Banana Stout from Evil Twin, I wasn't going to pass up on a BBA banana coconut stout! 11% abv, bottled 9/4...
• Captain Lawrence and Barrier collab, Communal Happiness, a 7.5% NEIPA dry hopped with Citra and Mosaic lupulin powder; no date on the can, but Captain Lawrence's instagram page indicated a 10/20 release date...
• And from Barrier, Kronk!, an 8% DIPA version of their Kapow! IPA, a collab with Hackney Brewery in London; canned 10/8...

How is that Dragon's Milk ? Am not usually a fan of coconut or other strange thing in my beer other than maybe coffee and chocolate. I did have some Funky Buddha Last Snow on our last trop to Florida and I could drink gallons of that if available.

 

Haven't had it yet - I'll tag ya over in WBAYDN when I do...

 

I really enjoyed it. I'm iffy on coconut, but the banana flavor sold it for me. I drank a 4 pack, though trying a single first would be advisable if you're iffy on it. I just never see banana stouts and they nailed that flavor. I haven't enjoyed berries in a stout, but banana works.

 

I HIGHLY recommend you try Evil Twin's Even More Coco Jesus. A coconut maple imperial stout, at around 13%. It is hands down one of the best Imperial Stouts I've ever had. Thick, fudgey, sweet, chocolately. A big alcoholic liquid brownie cake. The coconut is very subtle, but so well-played. If you can't find it there, and I can score some more, I'll send one your way. It's seriously outstanding.

I'll probably end up doing the same thing. One for now and one for later. Still have a bottle from last year as well.

 

Sure wish they would have gone with 12oz 4 packs like every other one of their barrel series.
