Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative in Nordeast Minneapolis opened its new taproom (adjacent to the existing brewery) on Saturday, according to its Facebook page.

Yoerg Brewing in St. Paul has scheduled its grand opening for November 15 and hopes to have a soft opening by November 1, according to its Facebook page.

LocAle Brewing Company in Mankato has its soft opening today.

In shocking news, Yoerg Brewing's St. Paul pub's opening has been delayed: "We are anticipating to have a couple more weeks delay and are now praying to be open by Thanksgiving." (Facebook)

We went to Clutch Brewing last night & because I'd forgotten is was in the Keg & Case building, had a difficult time finding the place until I pulled out Google Maps. No outside signage at all that I saw.

The market concept is interesting, & the entire place was packed at 8:00 PM on a Friday night - not something you can say about a lot of spaces in my hometown of St. Paul.

I picked up three 5 oz. samples. Given my lust for rye, I had to start with the rye IPA Chai-ceratops! Very nice IPA with light helpings of rye & chai, which in volume could ruin any beer. Next was the Straight 8 IPA which was muddled, not hoppy, too sweet, & generally uninteresting - not good at all. Last was the Sweet Jane milk stout, which was another solid entry that nailed the style & was very pleasant to tip.

They did not have boards or any way to carry samplers, which is downright dumb, & I'm glad I didn't order (& have to try to carry) any more than three. The vibe is very cool, the beer was 2 of 3. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, but wouldn't hesitate to have a beer if I found myself in the Keg & Case once more.

From the Pantown Brewing Facebook page

"We are getting close! The auger and mill install will be completed Thursday. Then it’s time for the final touches as we prepare for inspections next week! Who’s excited to see some pictures of Nick Flies brewing some great beer?"

That better not be a Pilsner! And hopefully not served in that wheat beer glass, too

I’m sure that the guy with the kilt will be along shortly to explain the situation.

I don't have a kilt, but I have spotted cans of Foggy Geezer, Lazurite and Salmon Pants in the Twin Cities market with small-print copy confirming where the beers are brewed and packaged now. Hope you enjoy the beers, guys!

We almost have a veritable flock of loon names. The Growler noted a BIP called Uncommon Loon Brewing, joining Lazy Loon and fka Looney Bin (now Stacked Deck) in the pantheon of state bird breweries (am I forgetting one?). They have a Facebook page and a website. Looks like they are actually pretty close to opening in Chisago City. I believe that’s an area where a brewery could work, as there’s currently a lack of competition around there.

I'm sure someone out there is going to start up North Loon Bound Brewing and one up everyone on all this similar nomenclature. My money is then on North Loop Brewing buying them up and folding them into their portfolio.

3rd Act in Woodbury started brewing last week. They haven’t announced an opening date yet, but I would guess it will be before the end of the year.
