I grew up in Milwaukee and would have agreed w u 15 years ago, but it has become far more attractive to the younger crowd in recent years. Have no clue if this will be a good move for them, but if done correctly I think the area will definitely support it.

    Here's the quote:

"Unlike the Northeast taproom, it'll also have a TV for airing Brewers, Bucks, and Packers games: "It's part of the culture here," Whisenand said."

I didn't take this as talking about sports fans in general, but rather that the Milwaukee craft beer drinkers want taprooms to also be sports bars, whereas here they don't.

I agree with you and think they worded it correctly.

I will say though, there is a drastic difference in sports fans. It’s far more rare for people to not be local sports fans there than here. It’s a lot more diverse here - people who grew up outside of MN as well as folks w different interests. Not suggesting which I think is better, but it is very different.

I was there when it opened. I'll be there when it closes. They will be missed.

It's obvious you don't live in the St. Croix Valley because if you did the biggest brewery from Cottage Grove to Marine On Saint Croix in Washington county would be Lift Bridge. On and off premise their stuff is every where.

Lol. I have some Flavorwave, and Brut IPA in my fridge right now. See them on draft, and in liquor stores all over the metro. Top notch brewery.

Bummer about Great Waters. I was there on Tues, and they were brewing beer, guess that batch won’t see the light of day.

I'd agree with Monk here. Indeed is one of my go to breweries in this state. i know whatever I buy will be top notch. Three key stops for me when in North Mpls. Indeed, Fair State and Dangerous Man. Not always in that order but all high quality.

One of the pioneers on the local scene....always decent with a unique niche...you'd hope there'd be a place for that these days but maybe not in the hazed IPA, desert IPA, sour anything craze...

Might be the last NEW MN brewery of 2018 and announced today that they officially open to the public Saturday 4pm Dec 1st .

I looked up the address of the new location Indeed Brewery and its a block away from the MKE Brewery. It could work well with brewery hoppers.

Who are the people running/opening it? Where on Concord? Most buildings down ther ehave been torn down long ago.

I'm also super interested in hearing more details about the South St. Paul brewery and where on Concord it will be. I am very familiar with that stretch, and like @BeerDrinkinGuy says, there aren't a ton of great spaces for it. Could it be the Historic Concord Exchange building...not sure if they have the space. Or farther down towards downtown, in the Ten-o-Nine building across from Buggs? Those are two spots that immediately came to mind.

Day Block Brewing bought a bunch of tap line equipment on the cheap from Grumpy's when that bar closed. They will soon be increasing from eight lines to fourteen. As a brewery I've frequented since they opened as a former member of their beer club I have to say this is long overdue, and will provide some much needed variety.

I believe it's supposed to go just south of the Subway at Concord and Grand. Don't know anything about the owners, but I know they have a brewer with professional experience--unfortunately I am not at liberty to say who it is.

From their Facebook page - Pantown Brewing in St. Cloud has passed all the inspections and is going to start brewing.

"F-Town Brewing Co. [in Faribault] will shut down Dec. 31, according to city documents. The city and county have agreed to take pennies on the dollar to buy out loans they made to owner Travis Temke." The article is behind a paywall. Temke is developing a brewery in St. Paul that is being heavily subsidized by the city.

Hmm, so I have to pay to read a news article about a crooked/incompetent business man? Hard pass, I'll just take your word for it:wink:
