Bell's Bourbon Barrel Aged Expedition Stout 2018

Yes. As I mentioned, pretty much all breweries who put out a significant volume do this with barrel aged(non sour)beers now. The risk of infection from one bad barrel is just too high these days. You haven’t seen any recalls lately, have you?

And I have no fear of BA Expedition getting 'better' with age, as I can't keep my grubby paws off them right damn now!

 

Man, wish I could find some in my part of the state. People in other states seem to have no issue... I think my local distribution chain just sucks horribly. I'll probably never get to try this beer, already missed out the last couple years.

 

Where are you in Michigan? Did you try the beer finder?

 

Tried the beer finder, everything is at least an hour away. I'm north of Detroit, everything takes way longer to make it out of the metro Detroit and grand Rapids areas it seems. By the time we get some, bottles are so limited it's a joke.

 

I kind of think that once it hits the beer finder , it’s already sold out of those shops.. found some in Boston even though the beer finder doesn’t list any, even within the 100 mile “Hail Mary” zone

 

I have had that experience too. Maybe there’s a bit of luck involved.

 

That's why I haven't driven to Detroit to search. I'm not driving for hours just to have it be sold out everywhere. It's a michigan brewer, no reason I shouldn't be able to find it with reasonable effort...

 

Use the bottle finder and then call places that are listed as having it. If they do, ask them to hold some for you... keep calling around the places on the beer finder until you find one who has it still.

 

Not a bad idea at all, I may employ this tactic if I can get the wife to ok a short day trip...

 

It's how I found a 4 pack. Was taking an overnight trip to St. Joe with my fiance for some time away from the kids and dogs. I used their beer finder to see what places had it, called 2-3, and found it at one. Had them hold me a 4 pack for about a day, and picked it up on our way to our hotel.

 

Looks like the Milwaukee area is getting 50 cases and is 1 case per store to the top 50 Bell's accounts.

 

In GR, D&W Gaslight has four 4-packs on the shelves. $29 each.

 

Any idea when these might drop? My calls to stores are all coming up clueless. Most don't seem to know what I'm even asking.

SAD! Gonna be a kick in the nuts to be begging for this to release earlier in the thread, have it hit distro, then not get any. Thanks for the heads up!
