Sorry I'm out of touch, what is this referring to?

There are probably 100 breweries in the NW suburbs at this point. Crystal Lake, Wild Onion, Tighthead, Prairie Kraft, etc. would all qualify...lol

Wild Onion smells so god damn aweful to me, that this just ruins me on wanting to try their beer. It just induces a bit of a gag reflex.

    P.s. I love cooked onions.

Strange name, totally agree but they have been around for a looooong time. I love ranking brewpubs and this is currently my second favorite in the area, behind only FFF and just in front of Forbidden Root. Many different styles on tap, all usually on point and well done for the style; very good food and unreal decor/atmosphere in the pub. Gorgeous woodwork...

Good to know in case I ever make it up there.

All that said, this reminds me that some people get "onion" from IPAs. Which is probably one of the least pleasant sounding tasting notes...ever.

They have a "tied house" restaurant in Oak Park, which is really nice and a bit closer to IN if you're ever in that area.

    People like Wild Onion?

Don’t get me wrong, I think Drago is really good, and hop slayer is ok, but everything else I’ve had is absolutely terrible.

I would imagine 90% of us "like Wild Onion" based exclusively on Drago.

I think the fact that no one had any idea what brewery the original post was alluding to makes it clear that most of us are on the same page.

Nah, its turrible. Shelf Turd. Nothing to see here. Move along.

For a while Drago was my only exposure, but once I went to the tied house I actually really enjoyed some of their other stuff. They have an English mild I dug, and their house pilsner was good. Didn't bother with any of their IPAs ...

Very few people on this website drink English milds and pilsners anymore lol

If it ain't a hazy pastry, get it out of here!

I like going there mostly because of the food, solid prices, and of course Drago when on tap. Probably one of the best NW suburb brewpubs I've been to, Lucky Monk is on the same level except they really don't have one beer I enjoy, however, Cary Ale House is definitely doing some really good things, and I enjoy their beer on tap.

It was more a joke geared towards the fact every brewery around here is doing BA releases the next two weeks. Honestly have no clue if drago is coming out but odds are good, ive always meant to try it

Speaking of barrel aged releases anyone know what Temperance is doing this year for Might Meets Right? I really liked their mixed 4-pack last year and if they do something like that again, I am totally in for it.

I don't think that goes down until the new year....
