This level of discourse should be taking place in the Bourbon County thread, guys.

I meant definitionally in terms of colloquial use. Duh.

Well you didn't say that. Duh.

The point is... it's gonna be hard to come by, similar to CS in distro. All I was saying.

Fruit beers that aren't gose's, sours, etc. are polarizing. No matter how great Rev or GI is at doing them, they will always be that. As a result, coupled with the fact that Code Switch occured during the first release, I have no doubt that code switch will likely be harder to find than Vanilla Deeth.

I was going to add that the one thing you may have going for you (all) is that there might be more that hits distro of Vanilla than CS, even though it probably won't make it out of Chicagoland. The con to stores receiving more is that they might increase allotments (from 1 can to 2 or to an entire 4-pack), making it no easier to obtain. Doh!

Fruit beers are polarizing in general; sours are an acquired taste, and the gose style is very weird when you first try it. My dad probably enjoys more styles of beer than I do (he's more into the classic German shit, for one), and he can't get into fruit beers almost at all. You're hopefully right that Rev did lots of vanilla, knowing it'll have bigger demand than Code Switch (although I'm skeptical that it'll be as good/better).
I'd personally prefer a 4-pack, if I had the choice between that and a can (and availability was equal). Good point though.

I go back and forth on some of these. It's like - If I was a store owner, and I knew that EVERYONE was getting it, it'd be tough to allocate a 4-pack vs. 1 can, even if everyone is only getting a couple cases. Do I say "well, there's plenty in the wild. Let them have a 4-pack!" OR, do I say, "People are gonna be neckbeards and chase that shit. Spread it out, let more people at least try it. " Don't know. If I knew I was the only store in town getting it, though, I'd for sure make it 1 can pp.

Yeah, 1 can is definitely more "fair," but I think I'd err on the side of what the brewery intended (mostly because then the onus is on them ). It's no fun imo to see that a brewery is releasing 4-packs of cans (or bottles, or whatever), but you can only get 1/4 of that allotment; it feels like you bought a sample, and to make matters worse, typically that sample is above MSRP.

I hate split 4 packs too, but many times I've been lucky to get a can/bottle of a limited release that otherwise would have been gone if they'd sold the whole 4 pack. So it can be a benefit too.

I made a similar joke in the Rev thread, but I do wish that if they Made a Walnut variant that it'd simply be called, "Apollo's Nuts".

Then i'd find an untapped review that says "I could sip on this all night." And I'd screengrab that shit. Who'd have known that they could such enjoy "Sippin on [Apollo's Nuts] all night"?!

Beer brings out my inner Adolescent.
