As is NBS tradition, newest JP available. Stillwater collab. This was excellent. Great fluffy head retention/lacing. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy pineapples, lemon, lime, fruit skin, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel, peach, pear, mango, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, peppercorn, almond, coconut, oak, hay, straw, herbal, floral, and grass; with moderate honey, brown sugar, toasted bread malts; light oaken vanilla, leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness; pine, herbal, floral, grassy, citrus peel bitterness; and yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Creamy/bready/grainy malts; some sticky hops, fruit tang/acids, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acid/tangy/tannic dryness; no pucker/astringency. Very smooth, minimal warming 7.7%. Really unique beer, but they still nailed it. Tastes like a Mai Tai as a wild ale. Awesome balance of classic JP house funky Brett/Bacteria complexity, pineapple, lime, almonds, citrus peel, honey, and sugars; nice oak barrel presence, earthy hops, and bready malts against acidity. They don't make a bad beer, regardless of how weird it might sound. 4

I'm on a bit of a rust belt high after last night's Brown's win and this early evening's Steeler's victory...

Time for a classic rust belt beverage...

...I still taste that "fire brewed" flavor of yore...

A festive palate cleanser before I move back to something more substantial. Just caught the tail end of Trading Places while waiting for Bad Santa to start. Might throw on the SNF. Caught bits and pieces of a few games today including the end Steelers Pats. Man I love watching Brady over throw his receivers. Cheers!

From my 2nd favorite Swiss brewery:

    11.2 oz. bottle.
Moderate pour yields a one inch egg shell white head over a hazy golden body with a bit of clumpy lacing. Nose of citrus (orange, grapefruit), slight funk, and even slighter ginger. Taste mirrors nose very nicely with a real nice tart and slightly spicy ginger finish. Great mouthfeel and overall, seek out this Swiss offering and you won't be disappointed. Cheers to a job well done!

Tangerine Space Machine. Pleasantly surprised with this one. So far nothing has disappointed me from New Holland. I would drink these regularly.

I cringe when my favorite brewery puts out another sour because, frankly, I'm not a big fan. I can think of a dozen brews off the top of my head I'd rather see on the shelves. That said, as far as sours go, this one is aiight. The cranberry provides enough tartness to balance the vinegary sourness and the black currant finish is nice. Needs to dial up the spruce a bit, though.

Marble just released the Bourbon Barrel Stout and in 4 packs of cans for the first time. Love that direction. Interestingly, they are barely advertising the barrel aging aspect of this beer. Wonder why?

Might have gotten ahead of myself here, as I haven't asked for the PTO from work yet, but just bought my tickets (though with Southwest, so I can change/cancel if needed) for a trip to Portland at the end of February as well as tickets to the OM concert that motivated the trip.
