Two Roads Ol' Factory, a dry hopped German Pilz. Not too hoppy, perfect beer to enjoy while the Pats lose another one....

Happy Sunday night all. Starting with a Tree House Lights Out. Nice and light pale ale.

Second half of a growlette of Woodgrain Bourbon/Maple Barrel Imperial Yuge Porter, 12.7% ABV. This was aged in a barrel that first held Buffalo Trace bourbon, then maple syrup. I like this as well as CBS, and I've only rated BCBS Vanilla and BCBS Midnight Orange higher. Yuge is the New Yorker pronunciation of "huge".

I guess so far it’s an all Noble Ale Works day. I picked up a crowler on my way out today of I Love It! And it’s tasting mighty fine! Catch you on the other side of the moon:

It's a photo from earlier, which I forgot to upload but working on a second Marble DIPA.
Best by 12.15.18? Oh well, a day late but still drankable. Cheers.

Took a little break from beer...
Had some Scotch, wrapping gifts, RedZone on with the Steeler and Seahawk games in effect, listening to Behemoth's Satanist album... \m/:angry:\m/

Other than some shit coming later this week, I'm all done shopping and wrapping for Christmas now... Cannot believe Shitsburgh actually beat the golden boys of the NFL - must be some planetary alignment shit in effect I wasn't aware of - bummed that the 'Hawks lost though...

Currently got the night game on...

Hard to believe the regular season's almost over, eh?

Big, juicy, sweet crusher of a beer...

    Cheers...

One of the most complex saisons I've ever had.

    Whoa!

    11.2 oz. bottle.
Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch extremely light tan head over a hazy reddish amber body with some nice, sticky lacing. Nose of very slight funk, slight citrus, plenty of sherry oak, sour grapes, and some sort of spice; cloves? Taste mirrors nose at times as the aromas and flavors are changing as it warms. Grapefruit, for one, comes forward after a while, replacing what little funk there was, but the oak still stands firm. Wonderfully complex with a real nice mouthfeel. Overall, one worth seeking out. Cheers to the Swiss for another unique and complex offering!

Delicious batch this year. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of molasses, smoke, dark fruit, herbal hop, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness, and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/silky/bready malts; light sticky hops, chalky roast, and oak tannin in the mouthfeel. A tad thin, but nicely rich. Well balanced malts, cocoa, lactose, and bourbon barrel presence/integration. No warmth of 6.5% or barrel booze. A bit better than when I reviewed in 2016.
