This beer smells great. Probably more chocolate than any I've smelled....

Happy weekend all. Starting with a Pipeworks Very Berry Abduction. Really enjoy the Abduction series and this is no exception. Excellent stout.

Madtree / Shorts Collab. Very good fruit/spiced blonde. Nice head retention/lacing. Aromas and flavors of lightly tart/tangy raspberry, peach, fruit skin/seed, lemon peel, juniper, spruce, strawberry, cranberry, hibiscus, coriander, and peppercorn spice; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread malts; herbal, floral, grassy spice, and yeast earthiness. A bit muted aromas. Light-moderate herbal, floral, grassy, citrus peel bitterness; coriander, juniper spiciness; and slight fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt, spice stickiness, and slight fruit tang/acids in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy/carbonated dryness, no astringency. Very smooth, pretty refreshing, 5.6%. A little more bitter/spicy than expected, but well made style example. Very well balanced fruit, spices, and pale/wheat malts; with minimal residual sweetness from crisp dryness. Very unique and enjoyable.

That was great. You weren’t kidding when you said rock n roll. Pure and simple.

    The tempo changes were great.

Hate to draw a comparison but I like to relate to what I know. Very much reminds me of what I like about Jack White. That’s a great thing.

    Will explore further. Great recommendation.

Sooo... the label claims that this is a quadruple-hopped IPA w/ Mosaic + Galaxy, so I guess it's supposed to be a pretty big beer. Let's see. Pours with a deep yellow (picture makes it seem darker, sorry) very hazy body. As you can see, the head formation is fairly minimal, though whatever head does form, stays better than expected and leaves lots of lacing on the glass. Smell is very citrusy, full of oranges, tangerines, and grapefruits. Taste follows the nose — lots of citrusy notes and a bit of oat. I suppose that I can perceive some floral tropical notes from Mosaic hops, but Galaxy dominates. I should note that the taste is truly strong; as far NEIPAs go, this is a big one. In terms of feel, this beer is big, full-bodied, and creamy At the same time, the alcohol is very well hidden. Overall, I'm happy with this beer. Oats are not too prominent, Southern Hemisphere hops really do destroy the palate, and the strong body fits the overall profile of this beer.

Indeed, after ingesting that Bud Light thing, it is time to move on to truly good beer. A powerhouse local beer that I was glad to see return from last year...

Great looks with a pine resin and spicy aroma, rich and intense malt and hop bitterness flavor, and an excellent mouthfeel with some slight, boozy heat. A fine antidote to Bud Light poisoning...

Ditto on the tempo changes! Some of there other stuff is very Sabbath influenced/ 70s metal. I've been lurking these WBAYDN threads for a long time, decided to join in. Great way to discover new beer and new music.

When I first got into craft beer, I told everyone I know how awesome Dogfish Head is. Now I get a lot of Dogfish Head beer for Christmas every year. I used to love Noble Rot. This is a nod to that past glory.

GIving this a spin. I like the dryness, but i’m more into west coast and NEIPA’s. I’ve had a handful of the brut IPA’s and that is my verdict.

Cloudy and around 36 when I started, sun started coming out near the end of the ride, maybe low 40s when I finished. Pretty nice ride.

    Cheers!
