    No, I think cinnamon fades.

Good to know. I thought someone once called it “the spice that never dies”. Maybe that was mint

How does shipping remaining bottles work once your membership ends?

From my understanding, you still have till February 28th to ship the remaining bottles. Could be wrong, but thought that was one of the perks they listed. I remember last year they emailed me a couple times reminding me that I still had bottles to be shipped.

    Hope this helps.

I'm basing that on my experience with Cinnamonk and Melange 11. The cinnamon was my favorite part of both since I don't usually like sours, and both disappointed me when they had a couple years on them.

Also, with Melange 10, I first had it about 10 months old and thought there was tons of cinnamon. I had another bottle at just over three years old and, though delicious, I could hardly taste any cinnamon.

Am I crazy, or was there supposed to be some kind of extra bottles this year for hitting certain thresholds? Did I dream it?

Yea, you just didn't spend enough to hit them. Apparently the lowest threshold was "as much as the person who spent the most this year plus a dollar".

If I remember correctly, Melange 12 was released in 2015 and was low numbers for both HS and RS. It was a very good blend and I enjoyed it, but I've also heard that like every bottle is infected so you're not missing much.

From my experience, that statement is true for cinnamon. I opened up event horizon cinnamon variant, and two years old - it was a cinnamon bomb. Cinnamon overpowered the beer, totally ruined it. Really a shame, because EV alone is very good.

I don’t think melange 12 was infected. I had a bottle about a year ago and it was great. I think you are thinking of a different melange. Also, like the person mentioned, this hasn’t been sold since it was released, at least that is my memory.

I think Melange 15 was the one where all the bottles were infected. Though by looking at Untappd, there are check-ins claiming some bottles are still good.

I believe the issue was bad enough where they didn’t give me my bottles and issued me a credit.

Yeah it was 15 that was infected. The rocky road inspired one. Funny enough, I still see bottles of 15 on shelves at bottle shops.

Yes, it was 15. But it was a great one—would be definitely worth a re-brew. Kept my bottles refrigerated and drank within 6 months IIRC and all were good. I’d never had walnut in a beer and was impressed at how well it came through and worked with the other adjuncts to make liquid Rocky Road.

Has anyone received the e-mail for adding the friend(s) that get to receive your benefits in the taproom? I feel like last year these had to be sent in already by this time.

No, no emails. Yes, they are behind.

There's been pretty much no emails for 2019 so far. Hope to hear something very soon!

As die-hard as I am about The Bruery, it really does seem like they haven’t quite had their act together in the past year or two. Allocation periods are very unclear, events/sales have little if any prior communication (didn’t see an Anni taplist until maybe the day before), and we almost had to beat an included bottle list for 2019 out of them. Not to mention, but there’s practically no rhyme or reason as to if (or when) any of the months allocations are on tap, for how long, or where. Went to both taprooms this last weekend and didn’t get to try anything from this month’s allocations. I’m not sure if it’s simply due to increasing complexity/busyness or less planning/certainty, but they definitely have lost some of their touch. Maybe focus less on constantly trying to sell memberships to people who aren’t interested and focus more on keeping current members happy (who then not only stick around, but are more likely to “evangelize” the societies to others). Beer wise, I’ve loved 2018, but I honestly feel less excited/optimistic about 2019.
