It might not help you feel better, but I feel exactly the same way.

Looking forward to this. Big fan of the Peach one they made.

I've tried at least 7-8 of their offerings and think some are very overrated. The Dialed Up triple IPA and Cutting Tiles series were just amazing I thought. I don't care for coffee so I won't or can't comment on those.

Got some cans of Scaled and Vicinity this past weekend, there seems to be a bit of a weird minor "burn" to both when I tried them, but mostly Scaled. Definitely odd. I've seen that in super fresh cans of NE IPAs before, but these are both a week or more old.

Hmm, I had a couple cans of Scaled this batch that I thought were fine, though leaning more towards the watermelon pear lemon candy taste from the El Dorado hops than prior years, and the cans of Vicinity I had I thought were better than recent batches, kinda like how I thought it used to taste a year or more ago. Not sure what the burn is, but I don’t think these beers were too green or harsh or spicy or anything like that. Everyone’s palate is different though.

Yeah I'll give some of the other cans a try soon and see. My taste buds might've just been "off" last night.

For me, these recent beers taste more like the older beers. For the older beers, some people didn’t like the “burn”. I did. Drink what you enjoy.

Had a cask pot and kettle today at the brewery — beer was roasty and tasty from the hand pull at the bar. Cellar temp perfect and the beer in great form — nice to see Trillium offering real ale as it’s becoming increasingly hard to find places around Boston that know how to do cask. Also picked up some Cape Elizabeth Lighhouse DIPA and popped one tonight. Super juicy/Citra hopped. Excellent beer.

Just straight up P&K? If so, huge respect. I loathe the all too common brewery cask that is "x beer with double extra dry hop, on mangos and pixie dust"

Yup. It’s not your typical UK session Porter as it clocks in at 7.5%abv - but other than that no brewery tricks. Great beer. Had a 3.x% Shirley May coffee porter on cask at Hill Farmstead last spring and was equally satisfying. It says a lot about a brewery that shows interest to do cask — such a niche thing - but when done right sooo good. Noticed Lawson’s had their fayston maple stout on cask last weekend...would have loved to have tried that. Cheers

Haven't really had much beer since late October...and NO Trillium since then.

Last night shared three beers with a group...lone pine ohjay, trillium congress, trillium vicinity.

Oh-Jay was pretty damn good...soft, sweet, super tropical. Enjoyed it.

Vicinity smelled weird. Had hop burn and tasted like savory peanut butter.

Congress street smelled like savory peanut butter instead of the tropical fruit basket it used to. It tasted like savory peanut butter.

These used to be my favorite beers by them. I got peanut butter(for the first time too) in the last cutting tiles I had which may have been galaxy. So maybe it's just galaxy hops right now. I don't know, but I can't blame it on palette fatigue, these are the first ipa's I've had in months, and Oh-Jay tasted good.

Anyway, we had some good years Trillium...enjoy all my money I gave you and I'll always remember you when I see the pants that used to fit me getting dustier.

I don’t doubt your sincerity — but I’m getting nothing but normal Vicinity w/the four pack I bought yesterday at the brewery. Still tastes awesome to me — deep galaxy/Citra juciness — just like it was when it was on tap at R34 and sold in the old 25oz bottles. Maybe my palate just isn’t refined. If so - I’m happily ignorant here on the north shore!! Cheers.

    I wish that glass wasn’t $75 because it’s gorgeous.

    And the beer too.

I'm out of the glassware game... That's a $75 glass? Did it come with $70 in the box?

And I don't doubt yours. The savory thing that I can't get past is very strange and new to me. I can only compare it to when I drank never & again...it was the first time I ever noticed 'hop burn' and ever since then I can't help but notice it. I drank cutting tiles back in Nov. and now I'm noticing that really strange flavor. I don't even know if peanut butter is the right comparison...just some sort of synthetic candy flavor. Like butterfingers or reese's. I don't know. It could just be me. But I don't notice it in other beer so that's where my money is going, and that makes me sad because I want to love Trillium.

And as far as palette, I'm pretty damn easy to please with beer!

Savory peanut butter, butterfingers and reese’s has got me pretty intrigued. I almost want to taste that in my IPA.
