I'm confused, doesn't look much like Hopslam.

 

I was holding this one back incase USPS fucked with me and my boy @JayORear , but nah, his box of sunshine suds showed up - albeit late. Still, I am able to enjoy this “aged” Pliny now (bottled 01/03/19):

I am enjoying this years 'slam entirely too much.

 

Schlenkerla smoked Helped Lagerbier. This beer keeps getting better for me. I have the Marzen waiting on my fridge, picked up for $2.50 @ Woodman's in Suburbs regular priced. One of my bucket list breweries.

 

This was another new one for me, definitely a splurge. Pretty tasty though and a definite sipper.



Duane Allman was the bomb! Shame he died so early.

 

A very fine beer from one of my favorite breweries..1st time trying this one and like every other Unibroue I've ever had its damn fine...Some real nice subtle spices.

Closer tonight is a Carton Aug 2. I’ll admit it’s a nice American version of a Dubble. Nothing to complain about in here.

 

That is why I reposted with the correct picture. Apparently I was more intoxicated than I thought. Whiskey will do that.

 

Another first review. This was delicious. Great rocky head retention/spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, clove, allspice, peppercorn, orange, citrus peel/zest, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread/crust, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, chocolate, cocoa, raisin, plum, fig, date, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, grassy, zesty, roasted bitterness; and peppery ginger spice on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, bready, grainy malts; some stick spice, and light chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter/spicy dryness, no cloying/astringent flavors. Minimal warming 8.75%. Mildly increasing ginger spice heat after the finish, but not overwhelming. Very similar to the base beer with a way bigger punch of ginger/spice, and added orange flavors. Was expecting a bit more citrus, but still really well done. Great balance of rich malts and spices; with balancing earthy hops against sweetness, and light fruity yeast presence. Not overwhelming on any aspect. 3.9

With a crew and good captain well seasoned.

As far as i can tell this is the only porter available in 12-ers in the Albany area right now. No complaints, it's a tasty brew. Line 'em up.

 

Icarus Cobra Clutch. Quickly becoming one of my favorite NJ Breweries. Cheers!!!

 

Expressionism by Treehouse. Smooth and rich without any syrupy feel. No trace of anise to my senses. Strong dark chocolate and coffee notes. Nigh unto perfect on carbonation for an imperial stout. Has aged very well in the can.

Hello Ba ... Poured this L'Hazy and my first thought was this looks nothing like the beer I drank a ton of this past summer at Progressive Field. No bottle date @brewkettle !!!! I know it'll be on the case but it was nowhere in sight. So I took a chance since I haven't seen it before at this particular grocery store so it has to be reasonably fresh . . . I think I was wrong. Advocates, I love this brewery but I won't chance it again unless I see the case with the date stamped on it lying around somewhere. I should know better. P.S upset. Cheers !
