Chicago Stout Releases (2019)

Pretty sweet list. I'm guessing people will flock for BCBS, I may stop by later and try some of the others I've been wanting to try.

 

Checked out the Middle Brow Bungalow last night. Very cool space! It was crowded, but we got in quickly. They sold out of food early, which was too bad.

Mender was solid. They also have a Nelson session IPA on that was refreshing, and a Berliner with fruit and cacao which I liked.

Anyone planning on going to Temperance on Saturday? A couple of those variants sound good. But couple of them are a bit iffy just by the ingredients.

 

I'd go just for La Sorpresa. Had last year's a few weeks ago and it was still phenomenal!

 

Going to try - but my results last year (I don't remember how "late" I was, but they were down from the 2 4-pack limit to 2 cans), combined with the way the Rev releases all ramped up from last year...I'm not lining up before open, therefore, I'm not that hopeful.

 

FWIW, I spoke with one of their brewers who confirmed they've got a lot more of it canned this year. He was confident (hopeful?) that cans would make it through the entire weekend. I think they've caught on to the fact that the variants have driven up demand a ton for the beer.

 

I feel like I've heard this one before. Always fascinated to see when Chicago beer nerdom proves a brewer wrong! Over/under on how long this lasts?

 

Hopefully it hits distro. I know it was super limited last year, but I managed to snag one.

 

Would appreciate any updates from anyone that goes. I’m hoping to go later this afternoon if possible.

They had huge palates of 2018 left when I took off a half hour ago. 2017 4 packs are gone however.

CW Rye Barrel Chocolate Porter 4 packs popped up down here this week. $15.99 and loving the format change. I'd imagine you all will start seeing that soonish.

Anywho, pretty good sized stacks down here, 5-6 cases or so at each place, so I'd imagine you would see more up there. Had one the other night. Very enjoyable. More rye barrel presence than I previously recall. Also less infected than last years, which is always good!
