Yes, it’s true, I have created another beer with Tres and Cat Daddy over at Voodoo Doughnuts. This beer, Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Ale, is another “Collision of Crazies” that is inspired by Voodoo’s famous Memphis Mafia doughnut. The Memphis Mafia doughnut is made with fried dough, filled with banana chunks, and topped with chocolate frosting, peanut butter, peanuts, and chocolate chips and I designed the beer to taste as much like the doughnut as possible! The Memphis Mafia name is a tribute to Elvis Presley’s entourage - how cool is that??!!! Enjoy the beer.

Thanks for posting, John. Looking forward to trying it.

    Cheers!

I am one of the few people who is super excited to try this. People hate because of the Bacon Maple, but I didn't think it was bad. Too smokey for me, but not bad. I can't wait to try this one.

I'm down to try this one! People like banana bread beer and people like chocolate stouts, why not marry the two and throw in some peanut butter too.

Maple bacon ale is a pretty rough brew dude. The concept and orginality are cool and interesting but in the end you still need to deliver a good quality beer. Bacon is a hard taste because the main flavor is the fat. Hard to get that into a beer.

I'm sure I'll try this new one but I can't say my optimism for it's outcome is all that high.

Put this one in a bright pink bottle so I see it right next to the Maple Bacon still sitting on shelves 5 years from when they were brewed!

Considering the last Voodoo Donut beer was a common favorite in the thread titled "beers you'll never drink again", I give John major props for posting this in here amongst all of the hooligans.
I will probably give this one a try. I think this flavor profile, although it sounds crazy, is much easier to achieve than the maple & bacon.

Having said that, I expect this thread to be locked after roughly 6-7 pages of people bitching back and forth about Rogue.

Really, here's a novel idea. Just make a decent normal style of beer that people actually want to buy and drink.

Off the wall stuff is easy, cause it's one of a kind with little to compare it to. Try to make a normal beer really well and get people to talk about how good your brewing skills are.
