Wow, so um, no. When talking about water (and beer is close enough), "A pint is a pound the whole world round". As our measurements are based around things that wouldn't change, 1fl oz = 1 oz when talking about water and "water like" dense fluids. Also, a liter of water weighs a kilo, so now ya kno, a "pounder" because it weighs about a pound.

I stand corrected! Thanks, I must have been mixing that up with a different conversion.

Or it coulf have gotten infected , via apples or from the barrels, which seems more likely than they brewed the wrong amount of an included beer.

I bought a JW Lee's Calvados a couple years ago on the way to a party, opened, and it tasted okay but smelled like vomit. This is coming from someone who likes cider/cidre and apple Brandy, it was not appetizing.

So I didn't get an email - what exactly is going on?

    Email:
We have an important update regarding your included bottles of Apfelsap. Unfortunately, due to an unexpectedly low yield, Apfelsap cannot be included with any memberships. The good news is there will be limited quantities of Apfelsap available for purchase starting March 4 on a first-come first-served basis.

In addition, we'll be replacing included bottles of Apfelsap with a returning fan favorite: Mash & French Toast. This bourbon barrel-aged barleywine with cinnamon, vanilla, maple, and nutmeg will be included with your membership in the second half of the year.

Apfelsap was a very experimental project, co-fermented with McIntosh apples, and although we planned for a certain yield - we missed the volume that would have allowed for us to include it. We truly do apologize, but we're very excited to share Mash & French Toast. Don't hesitate to email us at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

    Cheers,
    The Bruery Team

This is probably the case. I wouldn't be surprised if more barrels than they expected got infected.

OTw/C was never noted as being aged (partially?) in Port Pipes before, was it? Or was it just not on the label before?

Damn, I didn't get that email regarding the Apfelsap either. Disappointed but understand how the shortfall in amount can happen, but more miffed that I didn't get that email. Luckily I came in here to find out (thanks guys) otherwise I would've just expected it among the beers I pick up.

A non-sequitur: Opened my last bottle of PB & Jelly Thursday tonight. I'm not a big fan of PB & Thursday, but I really like PB & Jelly Thursday. The boysenberry makes all the difference.

    What are your thoughts?

I have been lucky enough to enjoy 2015 BT Reserve, 2018 BT Reserve, and 2018 BT Grand Reserve over the past few weeks. All are really impressive, and a notable step up from regular BT (haven’t had 2009 for many years, so can’t compare that one).

I think my personal ranking is 2015 Reserve, then 2018 Grand Reserve, and then 2018 Reserve. Can’t go wrong with any of them though.

They taste great, but I think the most notable characteristic is that they may have the best nose of any beer I have ever had over the years. If you get to enjoy them, be sure to let them warm up to room temp and just enjoy the smell in your snifter without even having a drink every time.

That's my favorite Bruery beer! It could have used more PB but I'm looking forward to them doing that again.

This beer is the reason that I stocked up on out of the lunchbox, boy was I disappointed.

This Apfelsap thing is a bit ridiculous. I'm in HS, so I was supposed to get one with membership. They can't honor it because bottle supply is too limited, but somehow we can pay more for up to two more today? Seems they could have easily included it and they only aren't so that RS can get a chance to pay more for it as well? What's the point of paying more for HS if it's not prioritized? They've been doing an incredibly bad job with the memberships the last few months... Spontanaheim, anyone? The one Terreux bottle I really cared about last year? When I emailed about it in early December, they said it'd still come out that month and be included, then they included Rhone Blanc. I emailed again, and they said that Spontanaheim was never supposed to be on the list for 2018, and Rhone Blanc was "always the intended bottle". Nice of them to bother to email out and tell everyone that. I'm going to be honest... I don't actually care about Apfelsap, but this is extremely bad business practice. I think I'll just skip the allocations today. Don't feel like giving them any money right now.

The drop down menus (For choosing allocation amounts) didn't load for me at first neither but now they seem to be working fine.

Ended up getting an Apfelsap as I was gonna get extra to share anyways. Now I'll just have to share the one bottle.
