Time for some March MATNESS, Penn State already took another national title, cheers!

 

Another new Big Lake. This was delicious. Fantastic lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of juicy/fairly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, peach, pear, melon, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery hops; and yeast earthiness. A bit muted aromas. Light-moderate herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and fruit/wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy wheat, sticky hops, and fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing tart/bitter dryness, no astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 4.2%. Great balance of juicy raspberries, American wheat yeast, pale/wheat malts, and earthy hops. Spot on APWA. 3.91

I was deciding between this and a Blonde Ale, but it is Orval day, and I get to keep the glass, a bottle opener, and a pin! All for $8! So this was an easy decision. I dedicate this beer to my best virtual bar mate @TheIPAHunter , cheers you wild son of a gun!:

I knew you liked the pickle, but that sandwich looks a little overkill.

 

What do you think of that one? I picked up a single today and after I bought it I saw there was lactose in it. Lactose in my IPA is not my bag.

It has been some time since I had a good carrot beer. I usually go with carrot-aged porters.

 

Poured out the Real Ale, haven't poured a beer out in a long time. Freshing my mouth out with this. Love Hi-Res, and this ticks all the boxes.

 

Picked up four crowlers at Isley Brewing in Richmond, VA. Not sure why but I thought a crowler meant 32 ounces. These were 16 ounces. Looked labor intensive.

Anyway, this one is an IPA called Arch Angel.

I really like it, but I am from Wisconsin, and we add lactose to things that should not have that involved all the time. I had 2 of them so far, and both times it was after a phenomenal NEIPA, so it was a good change of pace, but my mind was not blown. It will be a very solid single for you to enjoy, but it is not on the level of a regular Eagle Park NEIPA.

 

Was a huge fan of the BBA variant, so was pumped to see the generous @GOBLIN put one of these in our latest trade...Oil of Aphrodite, brewed by Jackie O's. Cheers!

 

I hear consuming carrot-aged beers improves your vision, but decreases your virility.

 

When you can see the Gulf of Mexico and you have shared/drank with a couple of legends today.......Jai Alai is the perfect beer.....today's meet was awesome!!!
