    Gulden draak 9000 Quadruple. The cork actually popped right off as soon as I removed the cage. Should've seen that coming considering how highly carbonated normal Gulden Draak is. Really enjoying this rogue goblet I snagged a couple weeks ago.

    Vanilla Gorilla, a 12% bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout brewed by Equilibrium Brewing in Middletown, NY. It was released yesterday with a one bottle per customer limit. I thought about cellaring it for a few months but was too impatient and I just reviewed it on the NBS thread. It's fabulous! Big flavors of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, brown sugar, and oak with a strong bourbon presence. When it comes to beer I'm seldom in the right place at the right time but this worked out pretty damn well! I'm in a good mood with Carolina's win and can now root against Duke, although I'll have to take it easy beer-wise for awhile after polishing off the bottle.

    Jet black body with a thick, frothy, and sticky head; huge sheets of foam clinging to the glass. Sweet, roasted grain aroma; caramel with a mild sourness. Charred grain flavors; bitter grain char; bitter chocolate. Heavy body; residual sugar heft with a touch of alcohol dryness; velvety mouthfeel.

    A very nice and tasty stout, definitely rich and dark in character with satisfying flavors.

    No apparent in-house fix for my old and decrepit A/V receiver and dual-cassette deck, so it's off to buy a new receiver tomorrow with Mrs. Goot and see if some local repair shop can fix up the cassette deck...
