I can't wait until they open their new location this summer, easier for me to get to and I'm expecting good food offerings to go with their great beers. Hope they also have room to brew the occasional Belgian.

I walked past there today and there is a large real estate "available" sign in front of the building. When I searched the address, Niles city 3/8/19 meeting minutes listed a discussion regarding changing the required parking spaces at the location.

Will try to get the story, may hit the current brewpub tomorrow, to see if they are still proceeding at the Gross Point location, which I thought they purchased. Perhaps the sale was contingent clearing zoning and parking concerns.

Stopped in a few weeks ago when they had the BA vanilla on tap. Thought it was a clear step above the previous version last summer (?). Also had a few of the IIPAs on tap hoping that maybe was just a can issue. They were the worst I’ve had the whole series, and it wasn’t a hop preference or anything. I saw they just used a new yeast strain for the most recent v5, but haven’t had it. I don’t know enough about brewing to have any idea what’s been off with those for awhile now, or what can fix it. I hope if they’ve been reading this they don’t take it as ragging on the beers. There was probably a 6 month period where I spent more on HC IIPAs than all other beer combined. I enjoy going to the brewery, and that tentative new location would be even closer. Hope they fix it. Has anyone ever discussed it with them?

Has there been any internal conversations about the color of V5 (fresh by 6.16.19)? A scroll through untappd shows a lot of cans that are closer to brown instead of orange

Is the color what the brewer wanted? Is this the color the V series will be from now on?

Taste is decent, I have concerns about shelf life though...

Liked the IIPA V29 poured earlier in the week. The Mocha Pot De Creme with Coffee, Chocolate, Vanilla Beans and Lactose was incredible, one of my top rated beers / stouts. So rich and creamy, excellent coffee aroma and taste (Abacus Coffee Roasters marked on the can). Definitely need a second pour of this over the weekend.

Picked up V32 which was canned May 29th. This one is galaxy and mosaic. Excellent aroma and the mouthfeel is great. Does not taste like the lactose bombs that some breweries are doing, this is more along the lines of Pipeworks style with a little hope bite. I am almost to the point where if I want a NE IPA, I just pick up the newest V series. They range from very good to excellent.

I tried mocha pot de creme and... soul-crushingly sweet. I think I’m just going to throw my second can at the next dentist I see.

I rated v32 a 4.0. It’s good though I continue to feel that the current crop of Galaxy hops we’ve been seeing isn’t tasting as great as in recent years.

That’s how I felt about French toast. It was just too much - too sweet! A few of their stouts go too far on the sweet adjunct side, but they have some true winners like this years BA Vanilla

Stopped in today and asked about progress regarding the Niles location, and it was a very sour subject for them. Niles is dragging out various permits, the brewery is submitting additional documents as requested and the village does not act, or asks for additional support.

It must be disheartening for a business to spend significant funds for a location and not be able to utilize their purchase. Not sure how any small businesses are able to survive in this pathetic state.

Beer ranged from decent to excellent today, the Lambic Kriek American Wild Ale with Morello Cherry the best of my pours.

Good news to share since the June 9 update, construction has started at their Gross Point Road location, with a tentative fall opening!

I've been slowly working my way through HC/AU cans this past month and I have to say the Le Seul series has been great. Have not had one that's disappointed, Pear & Pomegranate was probably my favorite. HC cans have been a mixed bag. After really enjoying CocoVan, I picked up PB Cup and the Hazelnut Pot De Creme. PB was decent, good flavors but a little too hot for me. However Hazelnut was terrible. Minimal hazelnut flavor, super murky look too it, and just didn't taste right and barely got through a few oz of it. Very shocked as it gets 4.3 untapped, curious if anyone has had issues with consistency. Cheers

Your description of the hazelnut mirrors my experience exactly with the PB can I had.
