Other Half (2019)

Didn't care much for Chicken & Broccoli at first, but it's tasting like candy at the present moment. One of the better sub-7% IPAs they've done.

 

*edit: had it in my head that Chicken & Broccoli was 6.8%. I was mistaken. Still one of their better offerings in the food series.

 

Bummer that their beers are only available at the brewery.

 

Was chatting to a couple of OH employees in the taproom yesterday. Sounds like when the Williamsburg location is up and running, the Gowanus taproom is going to become an event space - not open to the public. They're also going to use it as a sort of "influencer base" - so influential beer instagrammers (Lorenzo etc) will be able to take well curated pics of upcoming/sought after releases etc, to help get people excited - in return they will get early access/first dibs on stuff. The primary focus of the Gowanus location as a whole is going to be production and retail. And on the retail front, sounds like they are going to institute case minimums.

Hopefully we get some sort of official announcement soon.....

a throwback april fools joke in simpler times, when a glass of pure gold shavings would've been unheard of. Now... well, there was probably a pastrytown version of this somewhere...

 

Ha ha , I was just thinking of this before I saw your post. As crazy as All Gold Everything sounded back then, if they announced that April fools prank today as crazy as craft beer is now it would be totally believable. Even a year or two ago Pastry Town would have sounded like an awesome April fools day joke.

 

Mouthful of Diamonds was great, I wish I hadn't stayed in and grabbed cans. I did drink a lot of it on tap thankfully. I got some Citra+Strata cans. I tried it on tap and enjoyed it a bunch, got a bit a lime flavor towards the end, I like it a lot.

 

This is gold.. and although a joke I could see it happen.

Of course they release Space Diamonds when I'm out of the country, oh well at least I'll get to drink some Cloudwater anyways.

Not possible assuming that this hop extract is a proprietary process from an American hop company, its why Galaxy cryo doesn't exist.

 

wonder how crazy it is going to be, my GF is on call all weekend, I might have to run over any way
