What's going on with Craft Beer Cellar?

Thiriez Extra is an example of a beer that brings me to CBC Belmont.

 

Never really understood their franchise thing as there's nothing proprietary worth buying. That said, I live near the Belmont CBC and they do have Kent Falls Super Sparkle....

 

Totally fair question. Most of the answer is that they're pretty close to my house and right on the way to somewhere I take my dog for off leash walks often. I do like their selection and the fact that you can get singles there, but if it wasn't such a convenient trip I likely wouldn't go anymore. The same could be said of most places I shop honestly.

 

CBC fort point shutting down end of the month...

 

I’m really surprised by the closing. I thought they were in a prime spot, especially with Trillium right across the street. Perhaps we are seeing the craft bubble start to burst?

 

I always thought they were in a horrible spot because of trillium and fort point market being right there. There's not much that CBC offers thats better than those two.

 

I moved into the neighborhood a little before they opened. To be honest most of the time I went to fort point market. They had no signage and the street they are on gets little foot traffic. There also aren’t that many area residents. I kind of wondered how they stay in business the rent must be crazy. Sad to see them go they did a lot of tastings and it was nice to take my time to pick a mixed 6 because I would be the only one in there. Will pick up a mixed 6 tomorrow to support

 

Valid points....never thought in that way. I bet Tony at Fort Point is doing a dance....

 

Yeah, I only ever went to that CBC when I saw other CBCs getting drops of harder to get stuff (Cantillon, etc). Pretty much every time I’d get there and they’d say “Yeah, Fenway will probably get those but we haven’t heard anything about getting an allocation”. I’d always buy something else but it seemed like they didn’t get a ton of support from CBC corporate.
