I miss the old OH when you had to wait in line along the perimeter of the taproom.

When it's busy it's definitely a bar. Not that a mobile POS is the definition of a bar in 2019, but I think they further emphasize that it should be treated like a bar. Line up wherever, order wherever, pay wherever.

That's not true. Nobody misses that.

Those lines make about as much sense as empty chairs on the sidewalk.

I miss the days when I could walk into any beer store and buy Delirium Tremens because that's what my standard was for great beer

Totally there with you. That was like such an exotic, mind altering (highly intoxicating) beer. It’s probably on my top 5 most influential beers (to me personally)

I miss the days where every Christmas Old Fezziwig would return and a college roommate and I would buy 12 pack after 12 pack of the sampler pack just to get to that liquid gold. End up having to throw a party to get rid of the rest of it, but completely worth it.

I don't bother entering the taproom on weekends anymore but when I go around 6pm on a Tuesday there are maybe three people working the bar and usually two of them are doing something like inventory, chalkboard updating, or moving glassware. In those instances I tend to just stand behind the one or two people ordering and then I get my cans and leave. I do think there would be a benefit to differentiating can sales vs. pours for the busier hours cause even with four people behind the bar its never clear if its four people taking sales. Just my thoughts.

this debate is silly. theres no line for pours. people who are lining up are doing it wrong. there is no moral low ground involved with going up to the front and ordering, which i do literally every saturday.

Yeah, this debate is silly. Let's get this thread back on track and talk about lactose again.

I treat the taproom as a bar. I don’t wait in line at a bar to get served.

Had a can of the short dark mexican stout last night and was very underwhelmed. Didn’t get any peppers in the nose or taste.

Pretty long write up in Grubstreet (maybe also in New York print edition?).

It's a bar. There are no lines. I've gotten angry glances from people at OH that have forgotten this.

It's becoming a problem elsewhere too. STOP LINING UP AT BARS.

They should only sell Chopped Cheese at bodegas in the Bronx and Harlem. Mules are too scared to go to either, so it would probably hang around for months.

I wonder if Becky from Insider will be at the Chopped Cheese release.

Also if Other Half makes a pastrami labeled beer with teku I will be so happy you have no idea.
