I lived on LI for 40 years until last October. Sand City was my favorite brewery (Hi George)! but frequently had the same experience - so close, but just not world-class. I live in VT now. Plenty of options. Still, for LI SC is prolly the best.

Nothing out of the ordinary, but still quite a nice NEIPA with a good balance of flavors that is somewhat lacking in the mouthfeel department though. I certainly hope that Epic's Stouts are better than their IPAs...

Hot & humid here, so how about Firestone Walker Mind Haze canned 3/5.
The look and aroma are off the charts for a 2 month old NEIPA from across the country. Taste falls off a bit, but still solid stuff.

I've had all the sought-after IPAs. If Sand City isn't world-class, I'll retire at this exact moment. From Hunter's lips to God's ears. Hunter, out...

Another one of these, post-run, pre-dinner. Refreshing as hell.

New (to me) beer. Really was enjoying it until I saw this on the bottom of the glass ( I just washed with soap and water, rinsed before the pour.)

    Looks like mold?

edit: slowly poured into another glass and it looks more like sediment.

Doesn't look very appetizing whatever it is, did you finish drinking it?

Just edited my post. I slowly poured the bulk of the beer into another glass and it looks more like sediment than mold. Swirled it into the remaining portion of the beer and it looks fine. I'm gonna drink it (Tastes real good).

I was going to say that, since you just washed the glass with soap and water. I am sure you would have noticed that in a just washed glass.

I had my fair share of sediment, doesn’t really bother me too much, I just don’t consume it (I do sometimes if the beer is very tasty). But the one in your picture looks much darker than the usual sediment (of course it could just be grape skin).

ps-I just looked at all the reviews for that beer and someone felt that there was Coconut. On weekends I eat oatmeal for breakfast with Coconut flakes and cocoa powder, and the Coconot flakes turn very dark, not unlike the stuff in you picture.

Have to agree with the Hunter here player. That particular beer, although decently rated, just doesn’t hit with me. Would go/drink more, but I’m way east, and it’s pretty much a two-hour commute (hour drive there and back). The island is called long for a reason. 41 years strong here.

Only my second beer of the afternoon, and it's a bit of a repeat from yesterday's procedure: Sixpoint Resin during dinner prep (and some Dr. Who while I cook).

Sipping this outside waiting on my homeboy from inside to make his bi-weekly call. Gotta go with something that will last that 15 minutes..

This isn't the best beer I've had from Celestial Beerworks but it's still pretty nice. Cheers, BA.

It's a big "if", but if I were smart, this will be the final beer of the evening...

    ...okay, I kid you...

...also, a fine day for watching birds earlier...two notables were the Lazuli bunting and green-tailed towhee...not exactly strangers in my backyard, but seldom seen...
