If I needed a summer intern/job I would be all over that. Beat most of my summer jobs when I was in college.

Shows you how out of touch Anheuser-Busch is - they pay people? Above the minimum wage?

In the "gig economy" where everyone is an independent contractor, you work for tips or, in the craft brewing industry, you volunteer and work for free.

Coming up next - the return of The Shape Up (+all the short-fills you can drink):

"OK, who want to wash kegs? You, you, you. Who want to stack cases...."

Think of it as hazard pay for having to drink Natural Light

You'd have to pay me more than $40/hour to drink Natty. I'd need hazard pay.

Here in MO. Wife’s family drinks a sh** ton of Natty Light.

A typical Xmas I bring a bomber or 2 of something good but spend a majority of the rest of the evening inhaling 2nd hand smoke in the garage while draining Natty after Natty.

My guess is that Brad or Chuck or Neil over in the marketing department dreamed up this dumb ass scheme.

"Hey guys, why don't we take our shitty $100,000 marketing budget, divide it 20 times and tell people we are going to pay hipsters $40 an hour to drink our awesome brew? The nerds on Beer Advocate and the hacks at the Post will be all over this story and we will get great publicity for free! Cause we're cool! Great idea, right?"

Holy crap. This is such a thinly veiled marketing campaign it borders on the incredulous.
Fuck Natty Light. Fuck those corporate D-bags posing as alternative to the mainstream. They are the mainstream. You're supposed to pay your workers. Calling them interns should not relive you of the responsibility to pay the people who work for you.

Sounds ok to me, drink beer and get paid. Maybe a second to having sex with pretty women and getting paid. Can I combine the two?

$40 an hour and I get to drink Natty Light?
Hmmm, do I have any college eligibility left after over 30 years?

By my reckoning that a bit north of 83 K a year. I could stand that I think.

Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or serious.

You have to remember that not everyone in the world is a hipster d-bag craft beer drinker, and that includes most craft beer drinkers.

Natty is targeting a certain crowd and they think this helps. And yes it appears they believe in capitalism by paying someone for their time. This is obviously contrary to the craft beer scene where all sought after whales are given away for free by brewers for the good of craft beer and all mankind.

Ha, yeah - I guess things have gotten that bad... So, choice (a) is correct.

No idea how this relates to anything in my post or how it makes me a "hipster d-bag craft beer drinker"... Geez, I thought I was too old for modern "hipsterism" (i.e., not the original "beat" generation ones) but I guess I do dress like a old dude ('cause I am one). And a "dirt bag"? Heck, was doing some gardening and had to move some 2 cu. ft bags of dirt --- well, mulch (but they were both wet and dirty) and could hardly pick 'em up.

Again, "Huh?" In my post I wrote "... in the craft brewing industry, you volunteer and work for free" a controversial topic about an illegal situation, sometimes discussed on these forums.
