Standard pour limit is 2pp with the ability to drop to 1 at their discretion, fun fun and no drinking their cans on site they will literally make you pour it out. Thoroughly enjoy their beer but they way they treat what they do in the current beer market certainly irks me. Like how they said they would never stop growler fills especially with the ginormous expansion and yet have never had growler fills for at least the 2 years I've been going

So much this!! I was so excited the first time I got to try Julius. After my first sip, I was extremely disappointed. I didn’t think it was any better than stuff I can get locally. The NE haze bois did a great job of hyping that up.

    This.

Or, you could be a hooligan like me and pop some cans in the parking lot. Met up with some dude and his wife from... South Carolina, maybe? Can't recall. I'd picked up a few cans in trades that were rolling around in my trunk, and one popped a little pinhole leak - so we shared that, and he cracked a Lawson session ale. No one said peep to us.

Sorry, but I'll chug a can before anyone's going to make me pour it out.

Yikes. That is disheartening. A 2pp limit does make it hard to justify a trip to visit. The point isn't to black out, but I'd most certainly like to try as much as I possibly could on my visit, especially in an area I may only visit once or twice.

Hell, even Side Project doesn't have a limit and you can solo buy 750mL of 15% ABV beer.

Absolutely! I was far more in to Green, Haze, and Alter Ego (specially the last two - those are still favorites of mine)!

Agree with this 100%. Not saying I would turn down a Julius if somebody offered, but was bummed a little the first time I tried it, as well. I am sure the hype train/Treehouse anticipation got the best of me.

Yea I'm sure you can I've just heard people who've never been buy you know $300 worth of beer and are hype to try it then they get the tap, terrible experience for someone who made a special trip and dropped that cash but I agree I'd be pounding that beer

There are probably enough people hyped to try Treehouse (and others for that matter), that while Treehouse may be burning a single bridge with the experience they provided, they still netted $300 and didn't lose any meaningful impact on their day-to-day sales.

Sucks, because that means not much, if anything, is going to change.

I was curious, so I just looked. They have 3 beers in the top 10 and 6 beers in the top 20 with a net 20 beers in the top 250. That's crazy representation. That's actually not the most though (wha!).

Out of curiosity, I found the following: Hill Farmstead has 21, Side Project has 13, Trillium has 13 and Toppling Goliath has 8. Without a question, Treehouse dominates the top end of that list though. Hill Farmstead doesn't show up on the list under after Treehouse's 8th beer on the list.

Crazy! That was a lot of fun to look up.

I actually did this in July of 18 and made a thread on it. (Got bored one day)

Funny to see how much it’s changed even since then. Whereas Side Project wasn’t even on the list of top 15 breweries.

Alpine with 5 on there is what shocked me when I did it.

I thought there was a thread discussing this topic at one point. It is amazing what has changed. Since then, Trillium got caught in that employee scandal and their numbers have dropped. Classic breweries like Russian River have seen their numbers drop (they're at 5 right now), while new variants of old favorites have seen brewery representation on the list increase (Tree House producing King Julius, King Jjjjuliusss).

Less tangible, but I believe Toppling Goliath used to have 3 in the top 10. One of those has slipped out and the other is looking threatened.

Disclaimer: I didn't look up many of the breweries on the list to compile a full set of numbers. I just looked up the few that I figured would be heavily represented.

    Interesting stuff.

I really like Alpine IPAs (and the one sour that I've had) - I was quite disappointed when they pulled distro from MN. I keep hoping that I'll get to try Bad Boy or Great one of these days, but given the state of things, that's not exactly likely.

Thank you for the offer. I may take you up on this; I might be willing to do very bad things to try Answer. No mega boxes; the canoes to Hawaii can only hold so many boxes.

Pants on or pants off chug?

2 pours per person. Can split some into half pours, but not usually the most sought after options.

They don’t offer pours at all times. If can line is long. No pours. The pour line has taken much longer than the can line on my last 3 visits. One was about a month ago and they had cans of King Julius and Very Green. About 20 minutes in can line and 40 in pour line.

If you arrive later in the day you are more likely to get pours and have short lines for both.
