    Ah, I forgot to ask:

Any good pet-friendly bars or restaurants (latter is a stretch, i'm well aware) in the Hudson Valley region? I'm sure this has been discussed a million times over but I'm struggling here....

I remember there is a BBQ/sandwich food truck that parks at/near a farm that has outdoor seating but I can't remember the name for the life of me. Any tips?

    Thanks in advance

EDIT: found that food truck. Papa's Best Batch. Any other suggestions would be great though

Check the Instagram post above. Dog friendly backyard. Are you missing this by a day?

Yes, unfortunately we will be missing that. Hopefully we’ll be returning next month though. Just wanted to confirm with you all what I already knew: Suarez brews the best Pilsner I’ve ever had (disclosure: I haven’t been to Germany yet)

This is the only pic I could get of that famous fluffy head before the wind blew it away (practically 10-20mph sustained winds today)

While I agree Palatine Pils is one of the top pilsners I’ve ever had, the all NYS ingredient Pils (name escaping me) from Suarez was even (hard to believe) better.

    Hey Guys,

Heading to the brewery tomorrow to finally experience the new-ish American cynosure of lagers and wondering if anyone had any suggestions about how to plan my first visit and what to expect. Any input would be greatly appreciated, and if you're there when I arrive, I'd be happy to bring along some MA + CT beers to pass off. Cheers.

No plan. Keep it simple. One of my favorite places to drink in the northeast, top 3 (with Hill and Notch). Drink the board if time and travel permits. A can of lager out back too and take as much home as possible. At least for me, that’s what I do, since I’m never sure when I’ll be back. Oh, and I think Sunday you can do vintage bottles, so maybe partake in one or two bottles, if you missed any of those releases. Most of all, soak it in. Special place. Enjoy and cheers.

Thanks a lot! Really appreciate the insight. It seems like it's got that Hill Farmstead/Fox Farm vibe which has got me sold. If we ever cross paths, first beer is on me.

@MattOC has the right approach, but would suggest getting a pour of Palatine from the source as the only plan/input to be taken very seriously, then just go crazy

...Oh, and capitalize on Kinda Classic/everything

I enjoy this type of planning over figuring out a trip to say, Tree House. So the plan is:

    - Coat my stomach with a bready + meaty lunch
    - Put on my tasting hat
    - Palatine Pils on tap
    - Everything else on tap
    - Vintage bottles
    - Everything to-go
    - Get a Palatine from the Can Shack, forget I need to plan for anything ever, and sink into the Earth

    Thanks guys!

I don’t think I’ve had that one, thanks for the heads up. Qualify pils is another great one.

I would highly suggest a stay at Central House hotel and a meal at Dan’s Brother’s restaurant, Gaskins across the street if you can swing it. Food is incredible and more Suarez on tap. Time seems to slow down in that little “hamlet”. One of the most memorable beer centric experiences I’ve ever had.

Can line-up looking intense with Qualify and Fine Line back in business + Kolsch joining Palatine in the "Shack"

Anyone in this thread who frequents Suarez and homebrews? I’m trying to replicate the pale lager they hopped with Simcoe back in April (name is escaping me at this point) and could use some insight/critique.

I was going to post my recipe in the homebrew thread but suarez is such a localized brewery that I doubt anyone could help me pinpoint what I am going for.

Name is Small Talk, but will leave the homebrew insight to someone who has come close to that manual
