In WA we get lines for Fremont Brewing and Holy Mountain, haven't heard of any others, except for the Black Friday lines for Bourbon County variants.

All of these are worth the accolades IMO. I don't know of any undeserving breweries that get big lines though there probably are some.

Ones that deserve more praise include Cloudburst and Structures.

Good idea for a thread! I'm interested in the read.

First time poster! I cool thread. When I visited breweries with my lady we get tasters of the everything they have in tap. I’m over just going for one beer thats “hype” they better be well rounded or I’m out! Rate the breweries not just one beer.

Tree House definitely worth the hype and reasonably priced compared to other lesser quality breweries. Stouts are incredible and Julius is my favorite IPA. I had my first Heady Topper back when The Alchemist was still operating their restaurant in downtown Waterbury before the flood. Used to be top on my list until I tried Tree House. Now I think Alchemist may be overhyped. Stouts are poor quality.
Beer'd is a good brewery worthy of a trip to CT

I have not had too many beers for which I would regularly pay $16/six for, let alone 4.

Redemption Rock in Worcester understands that the world does not revolve around IPA DIPA, NEIPA. They quietly produces those, but also produce some tasty alternatives.

It does make me smile that a "worth the hype" thread is being discussed by the very community where pretty much all brewery-related hype is born.

You'd be better served by asking people outside of the BA world if this beer or that is worth the noise those within this site make.

Perhaps you've never heard of a platform called Instagram, pretty much the place where ALL hype is born. This is where said hype is discussed.

Russian River. Went there for Pliny Week from Ohio a few years ago. Well worth the trip!

Side project brewing. A couple miles from my house and continuing to nail everything they attempt. I’m generally over standing in line and paying that much for beer, but the on site lists continue to grow and the owners seem like good folks.

I must say, I was not so impressed with Modern Times when they first arrived on the scene. They started putting out some special release bombers for like $30-35 when they were not yet known. I didn't want to spend that much on bombers from anyone at the time and same with now unless something is super rare or a must have.

I still haven't had many of their highly-rated membership beers, but almost everything I've had from them has been very good to excellent. They always have something good on in the tap rooms (stouts, IPAs, sours), lots of obtainable special releases for non-members, and they have put out some of the best IPAs in San Diego. I still can't bring myself to pay for a membership, even though I'm sure I would love it.

An outsider here, from Europe. I read the comments and I laugh. 4-5$ for a can of world class IPA and you complain? In the UK craft beer market (the most advanced in Europe), you have to pay around 6-8$ for a (440ml) can of local IPA (just check any online shop). In Scandinavia, perhaps even more.I live in Greece, where the access to the European beers is even more difficult. I have to pay 8-10$ for a can of these UK hyped IPAs by ordering online...and my income is wayyy less than yours. You, guys, are so blessed. Keep it in mind!

I’m somewhat surprised by this. I don’t think Stone is hyped at all. It’s more of a “Okay...well if ya got nothing local” for me.

For me, Bottle Logic is worth it, and Horus is not far off though I admit I am a big critic of the latter. Bottle Logic has had several releases I’d still consider paying secondary for some more bottles if I couldn’t trade.

Thankfully neither require camping out like Three Chiefs or Monkish and some others around here. If they drop some cans while I’m driving to work and I can get in and out in 20 minutes cool, but there is so much competition in the region the people who camp out for Saturday releases are silly.

My main point was that prices are high for everything in the North East and New England.

If I go to a bar near my home a 12oz pour is in the $8 range, a burger is around $18.

I travel a lot for work. Other than California, costs are less in most of the country.

Every Cape May Brewing beer I’ve had has been terrific, if they were a local I’d be all over it. Kane is really good too, as is Carton.

Hey - I'm not sure how far these beers are distributed, but we were in Savannah last month and enjoyed a lot of regional beers. After a morning on the Tybee beach, we stopped at the local bar. They did not have any draft beers, but I thought the can of Scofflaw Basement IPA was the best new beer I had tasted in a long time. That only lasted three days until we stumbled across Green Fire Pizza in Savannah. My wife is not an IPA fan, but found the Creature Comfort Amber to be a tasty beer… But for me, my new favorite beer has to be Rye Charles from Pretoria Fields.

How close are you to Albany? I am officially starting a hype for Pretoria Fields!

Agreed about Cape May. They are not a “hype brewery” though.

I live 20 minutes from 3 Floyds so I've seen the hype increase over the last 15 years. I've met people from all over the world there. And most concur---the food there is even better than their beer. And with the addition of the distillery, the hype will continue. But well deserved. I never have been to the ultimate hype day, Dark Lord, but obviously it's worth it too. Close by in Michigan, Transient meets the expectations.

You’re absolutely correct with this one. They haven’t released a dud yet. In fact, it’s because of their great releases time and time again, that I have well broke my beer budget.
