Slightly off-topic post...hopefully nobody gets triggered:

There is a local brewery (https://www.oystercreekbrewing.com/) that is located like a mile or so down the road from the now-decommissioned Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant (oldest in the country until recently)....all of their beers are nuclear themed but the beer is pretty subpar through IMO, and for some reason I now have an extra eyeball growing in the middle of my forehead....hmmmmm....

I'm not offended, I just think their marketing to be stupid. Either they are ignorant of the history or they're insanely insensitive. Neither option is good.

Does anyone think a beer called Talcum Powder Light or Round-up Red would be offensive now? In 20 years when we have better science that shows conclusively these things have caused millions of cancer deaths would we be offended by those beer names?

Not so sure about the Talcum Powder bit, but I could indeed imagine some families who lost one or more members to Round Up poisoning could indeed be irritated or even angered at "Round Up" being used to name an item intended for human consumption. I also would not be surprised if they made their irritation known in public. (Personally I'd just think it was poor taste and not bother to try it.)

Perhaps as horrible as the effects were on the Pacific Islanders, Americans associated with the testing have also suffered effects from radiation exposure in the Marshall Islands, but they did it in the name of helping the US and it could be seen as demeaning the sacrifices they made for all of us.

I don't know if it would be offensive per se, but those are also terrible names...

Really enjoying the "people are too easily offended!" bullshit from all the same people who are constantly outraged that fruited IPA exists.

No point, other than your using 9/11 as a hypothetical analogy to the Bikini Atoll tests is sensationalist at best, laughable at worst. The link, if you read it, shows that we have hurt ourselves more than any other country on this planet with nuclear testing. That does not condone nor excuse the mistakes of Bikini Atoll but your analogy is akin to comparing a car crash to an air disaster.

I, for one, simply do not care about how the people of the Marshall Islands feel about a bunch of dudes from Texas trivializing an imperialistic tragedy in order to sell their product. I just want to complain about how much people complain now-a-days. Damn political correctness gone mad!

Their beers seem to rate well, here on Ba they are mostly in 4 range which is pretty solid. Guess they are doing something right.

It's good beer. Their Double Half-life is one of my all time favorite IPAs. Pretty popular brewery here in DFW.

Did you know the word "beer" can be pronounced in such a way that it might irritate the auditory canals of water buffalo, hippos, and wildebeast?

    So...so much for that.
