Re-Upped my RS Bruery only. Really excited for the upcoming year's beers and glad there is an insulated tote bag and tasters.

Not to detract anyone's excitement over having "won" the "F5 race", but I would like to note that all three HS options remain available. My hat remains un-eaten as of yet.

Rue'd was a huge hit last time it dropped. I am very surprised the allocation (1) was so low on a beer they can sell for that price point and even though some complain about the price here, I am sure (including myself) some folks would drop the coin on that one. IMO, with a cellar becoming out of hand, hard pass on some of these cans. The cows sounds like a beer to satisfy the masses demand?

This is me, exactly. The more I think about it the more daunting it seems. I've also formulated with multiple plans to pawn cellar beer off on my friends.

The email that went out at launch time indicated that if you wanted to remain in RS to email Society@thebruery. I'm sure their goal is to fill the HS first. Plus, with the apparent ability to sign up for multiple HS memberships, they probably didn't want people to sign up for HS and RS at the same time. Avoids having to untangle more mess later.

Thanks for pointing that out, regarding the HS/RS. Not that it required a lot of thought about which to pick.

As far as the BT10 box- I’ve seen some think it’s a vertical of BT, but I know The Bruery doesn’t have all the years in archives or to even cover that many boxes. My guess is that is a horizontal of BT (variants of BT).

Drinking a White Ch and reminiscing. My first or second trip to the Bruery, Fall/Winter 2013, I scanned all those beautiful bottles for sale and saw a WC. With that white wax, elegant label, I grabbed it on a whim--knew it had to be good. I stifled a gasp when asked to pay $30 plus tax and wandered sheepishly back to my table to confess I'd just paid $30 for a bottle of beer! (would I have believed it if future me could have appeared then to scoff and tell me I'd be happily dropping almost a grand in August 2019 on HS renewal and allocations?).

In any case, saved it for Christmas and opened it with my brothers. We all sipped...interesting...almost a tart, white wine taste up front...but then chocolate finishing down the throat. Creative. Well done Bruery!

Of course found out shortly after via BA that is was "infected." Think I even got a refund which I felt a little guilty about since we actually enjoyed the bottle. Would taste WC as intended a few months later as a new Preservation member--will always be a favorite beer. Still, might be an interesting experiment to brew a mildly tart version of WC. I was pretty naive then, but in memory the balance of tart (but not too much) and sweet worked pretty well.

    Anyhow, thanks for reading. Cheers!

That sounds awesome too! A few barrel variants or treatments would be incredible!

This begs a thought... will it be 12 different variants or two bottles of six variants.

Either way, to quote Phillip J Fry, “Shut up and take my money!!!”

I really hope I get a shot at (a good) Port BT someday.

I bought 2 bottles last year and they were both horrible (TCA affected, like corked wine). I love fortified wines, port especially, so it was a heartbreaking experience. RW BT was one of my favorite beers from last year (I believe I maxed 375s at every opportunity).

Not that I care that much, just wondering why Rue'd Attitude wasn't waxed? Thought $40 and up was the new norm.

Since it was an accident, it would be unlikely to perfectly duplicate it, but it could still be inspiration. They should call it “a happy accident.”

That perplexed me too. I’m not sure what rhyme or reason there is to what gets waxed and what doesn’t. I’ve heard price point as well, but have seen numerous counterexamples since, on both sides of the $40 price point. Seeing as it does nothing to the beer inside, it’s no big deal, but that iconic wax has been a trademark for The Bruery.

Red Wine is, by a mile (and that’s saying something), my FAVORITE Black Tuesday anything (Variants, treatments, casks, vintages, etc). In fact, I might just go home and pop one of my 375’s to enjoy on this cooler NorCal evening!

Could be as simple as production timing. If they ran out of time I don't think they'd delay release just to wax.

Good thought! I mean, the wax is iconic and all, but the real treat is what’s inside!

Made good on my threat and popped one open... it’s everything you’d want in a BT barrel treatment! And frankly, I think it’s only getting better with age! Glad I bought a ton of it, and buy more anytime it comes back out! If OG Port is even half this good, I’d be floored!!!
