Another glorious sunny and beautiful NE Ohio day - last week (officially) of summer, until the autumnal equinox arrives early on Monday 9/23

Picked this nice "Ohio collab" pack up on the way home from office today - Fatheads, Jackie'Os, and Madtree....sure, I am all in! Wish Fatheads would can the Head Hunter and put that shit in this pack, waaayyyy better than the TrailHead APA....still cool though!

Hope everyone had a good Hump Day. Pretty normal day had a couple meetings and presentations. MI banned flavored E-liquid today with a 14 day window, so all the shops are going crazy with sales to sell it off. I talked to my store dude, and he said they will probably do flavor mixes post purchase, because flavorless nic salt liquid has always been available. Also shipped off a small beer box to France for @Shanex. You need to have 4 copies of the shipping label for Customs which was interesting.

Ascension / Founders - Overture. Awesome session NEIPA. Opaquely hazy. Nice fluffy head retention/lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Refreshingly smooth/soft, not aggressive, 4.6%. Awesome Azacca showcase. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice balancing wheat/oat/malt backbone for the ABV. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Spot on stuff as expected. 4.1

I bought cases right before they went year-round, and surprising to me, I still have some. I should enjoy it more regularly than I do, obviously. I assume it’s as good as always, no?

FYI. I went to Veil yesterday for their Tuesday release. Got there about 25 minutes after they opened. Found close parking on the side of the building. Walked in and there was no can line. Wonder what gives?

 

The coldest night in 5 months and switching to the dark side early. This stuff is just so, WOW!

 

That is what my wife does. As she says, "no bourbon tonight for you old man."

Would enjoy it if we could plan a way to get together for more than a beer and a swap. Unfortunately Richmond is a trip we tend to come up with last minute. Next trip I’ll hit you up to see if you’re available and if so I’m sure we can find places to go. Maybe a bourbon bar, too

Centennial IPA. Rides a low profile but a solid IPA.

 

Speck of Light. An IPA brewed by Veil. Suffice it to say, not my favorite Veil beer. I will leave it at that.

Most of the time, I have not been too enamored with collab beers but this one is an exception. Not sure which brewery had the most influence.
