Bruery RS/HS Allocations (2019)

They change the shape of the label every year. What's different this year is the use of silver for the border and the letters instead of the copper color in the past. Silver being the color for a 10 year anniversary.

 

I like the subtle changes they’ve made to the label over the years. Keeps it fresh.

 

I would guess they’ll be screen printed on the bottle which does add cost as well as layers of complexity with logistics. I would be disappointed if they went with a clear plastic label to create the look of a screen printed bottle a la Stone.

 

Spicy Island confirmed as the third variant in the BT#10 box. Getting some hate but mostly love on Instagram. I personally haven't had this one but I do like a peppered beer so I'm looking forward to it!

I’m in the “hater” group for this one. Would’ve been cool to grab a bottle on the side but, I think spicy beer is a very niche style and so many better variants. I will have 2 for trade lol.

 

If were a society member interested in this box, I’d be bummed about that beer being in it.

 

Since I haven’t had it yet it could be bad but I’m intrigued enough to be excited for it! Plus in the 375 mL format it will be easy enough to have small pours if it’s over the top.

Man, with the BT box, the BT Grand Reserve, the BT cans (great format, btw) AND the BT parties, I may need a second mortgage come October, lol!

 

Yeah, still getting the box for everything else!

I have, Let's just say, not my favorite one so far.

 

I just wish I knew what this box is going to run. Have MT league renewals and BT party to account for next month already. Of course just paid society renewals, help me, I’m poor.

I have. I was at the party when it was poured. Conceptually it wasn’t my jam, I don’t like fruit in my stouts.

 

Definitely looks like a cheap white border and barely any silver, I doubt that was the marketing intent here to showcase the anniversary. All of the BBL's series in 375ml with paper labels have a ton of wax and look great. I would think for the price point of Black Tuesday, it would have been nice to see some of the old metallic type labels with a nice black or red wax. Oh well...

Spicy Island has my hackles up a bit because it sounds fucking weird, but Bruery tends to do really well with peppers in beer so I'm looking forward to trying it. Could drink Mango Fire bruesicles all day.

 

I don't get to make it down for the parties. So I live vicariously through you guys. Read about so many great sounding variants of BT including Elvis BT and others. Never read about Spicy Island. For a reason? Why do I go to Panda Express Sweet Fire Chicken when I try to imagine what this will taste like?

I have a love hate relationship with pepper beers. Pirate bomb is in my top ten all time favorite beers. But I have only five beers that I will never drink again and two are pepper beers. Granted one was a lager and the other an IPA.

 

Yeah, now that I see it up close, it does look rather plain. Also missing the insightful quote. I know this is the can label, but doesn't appear to have anything different on the bottle when trying to take a closer look at it.
