SAVAGES (v2) Hints/Hauls

My college is St. Cloud State in Minnesota. I graduated in 1996. Born in 1973, but I was warped by the 70's. I fell in love with the crazy Watts junkyard dealer, and the middle aged guy from Queens, even though I was a little kid from the (then) very small suburbs of Minneapolis.

I'm also a cheap drunk, and those 2 beers that @CanConPhilly sent me and I drank tonight, really have sent me into the atmosphere.

I'll have to do some research on my day off work tomorrow to repay him.

And, of course, for the 2nd boxes to my targets, well, one of them. The other won't be truly back till next month.

 

I think he was talking about a different kind of joose.

I think itd be ok honestly people send it a bunch like you said most people try to get it. Any high fruit beer from anywhere runs that risk..the new park sour I sent in this round says "must be cold at all times" on it..made the trip safely

Took a little day trip to southern AL to watch my oldest son's football game and bring him back here for his fall break. Unfortunately the beer selection there isn't worthy of this group but I did snag a beer for my targets on the way home at a pretty nice new to me shop.

 

Hint #1 Looks like I'll be shipping north, surprising right?
Hint #2 I've ticked beers from both of my target's states on here.
Hint #3 I have visited both target's states.
Hint #4 One of my targets has ticked more beers than I have, the other has not.
Hint #5 I'll go with a college football hint, if my favorite team has guaranteed a team from your state will not go undefeated this year you are not my target.
Hint #6 Not shipping to a state that borders mine.
Hint #7 If I have shaken your hand there is a 25% chance that you are one of my targets.
Hint #8 I have not sent my target a ninja box in the past(that I recall).
Hint #9 My state has more counties than my either of my target's state.
Hint #10 If our actions could be misinterpreted as one giving the other a reach around, you are not my target!

Depending on where you went, Cottage Hill Package Store in Mobile has a pretty decent selection. My biggest complaint is they don't do singles, though.

Apparently there was a pretty huge beer fest in Buffalo yesterday. Didn’t get a chance to go, but reaped the benefits of getting to try Snorkel, Trillium, Other Half, The Veil, and some others on tap at the bar we went to last night. Unfortunately for you all I haven’t been able to find cans anywhere around town. No hints or anything, just wanted to brag a bit.

A little late (I cracked this last night), but here's my review of @Vidblain's mystery beer:



Appearance: Pours a dark amber brown with a thick, off-white head.
Nose: Heavy on the milk chocolate, with a hint of coffee and maybe a bit of raisin?
Taste: Lots of malts coming through. Not as much chocolate here, though it's still the predominant flavor. Still getting a bit of coffee. Very drying.

My guess is a brown ale, with chocolate and maybe coffee as adjuncts. Not thick and heavy enough to be a stout, and not roasty enough to be a porter. Probably around 6% ABV?

I should have re-read @Vidblain's comment, totally missed where he said the mystery beer was related to the food item haha. Taking another sip, I did taste a bit of a nutty flavor in the background. Either way, a delicious beer. Thanks again, @Vidblain!

Also, I had a chance to crack open that bottle of DSDB - surprisingly still VERY carbonated, with no discernable oxidation. Holy cow, is that an oak-forward beer!

 

Nice @Vidblain but @thisischuck01 what's the glass?

 

Got it from a Sixpoint small batch release last year, when they were putting out some Beans variants!

Hint 1- I have been in a BIF with one of my targets (target A) before but not the other (target B)
Hint 2 - The badgers avenged an ass kicking in Ann Arbor last year with a thumping of @FlintB ’s wolverines yesterday. The badgers have played a regular season game in one of my targets states (target B) and a bowl game in the other targets state (target A) in the last 20 years
Hint 3- Jonathan Taylor (badger rb) is getting a lot of Heisman hype. The last two Heisman winners from Wisconsin are Ron Dayne ('99) and Alan Ameche ('54). One of my targets (target A) had at least one Heisman winner from colleges in their state between 1954 and 1999. The other (target B) did not. (edited to one not both)
Hint 4- Almost exactly equal distance (within 5 miles) between my targets is the home of an iconic operation that I bet all of you know. Even after the big corporate buyout I still think it’s great, but I bet some of you moved on to something else. After the buyout the head guy eventually left which was a bummer. An image that directly references hint 4 has been posted by someone else on this thread.
Hint 5- there is a purveyor of haze that has been included in more than one of the ninja boxes sent this round that is much closer to both my targets than me. I have more UT check ins to that brewery than one of my targets (target A) but less than the other (target B)
Hint 6- My oldest daughters high school band is doing a trip this spring that will bring her (and me) to one of my targets states. She is pretty excited, and so am I
Hint 7- anyone have any suggestions on how to mount a scope on an AR?
Hint 8-
